Quit workouts?

Post by skully »

Okay. This is not what you think it is.

Since I started Chad Waterbury program two things has happened:

1) I, for sure, gained muscle.

2) I for sure I am so sore I cannot do daily functions anymore. As open the door without saying ow, or driving without feeling pain. I'm literally in so much pain. I think I might have pushed myself too hard. I can't even straighten arms. I feel like insides are bruised. Part of me is unsure if I'm sore or it's something else.

The pain is all over (other parts normal), but not triceps/biceps/lats/upper back in general.

So I was thinking I might need a bit more day offs. This week has been exactly like this.

Day 1: Friday. I got somewhat sore.

Sat: 30 mins cardio

Day 2: Sunday. I got REALLY sore.

Day 3: Tuesday: I got SO SORE, and Sunday's soreness still exists. + bodycombat class

Otherwise...Until today (Thursday) 've had about 2off days due to a busy schedule and the crazy soreness.

Normally I do weight on Sun, Tues, Thur...but on certain occasions I'd do them on Friday (such as this new week).

But with the soreness I am unsure I should go on with weight this Friday at all. I have to bench press, and I highly doubt I'd be able to handle carrying the weight, let alone do reps with it.

So what do you guys suggest I do?

Take Friday off too? i had Wed/Thur off...but was active in terms of I walked a lot in general in those days. Otherwise...I don't know. And start the week again with light cardio on SAT, because I am sore as hell in lower body too, it's just more manageable as opposed to upper......

confused here!

soreness usually goes within 2 days max. But it's very presistent. I think I might've hurt myself..Because I am in actual pain, not sore anymore...I feel like im bruised inside when I touch certain parts. You know the feel you get when you see a bruise in ur leg or sth? I get the same exact feeling but without coloring.

I am not sure if I'll be able to carry the weight I've done last week with this pain I have...I took one pill to ease the pain...and used a cream too...I'll see how I feel tomorrow. If I struggle opening a door or driving, or simply pushing laptop screen back...then I think i need another day or two off weights. I don't like that. But if body isn't recovering it means something is wrong.

Do you any remedies for this pain? it's no longer soreness, because lower body is fully recovered, but arms I still can't stretch them. I feel pain around the joints basically, when I move arms. biceps also hurt and forearms a bit. but I cannot turn arms or anything...It's not getting any better!

I know from experence if its joint pan its going to take a long time to heal. elbows take a month or two if i damage them badly. You should maybe go see a doctor if its bad. Chances are a doc cant do anything for you other than tell you to rest and take some Ibuprofen. its good to get it checked out though. It sucks to get hurt but it happens to the best of em somtimes. might have to run and work lower body for a while or do exercises that dont cause you pain.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Thing is im not sure what's this type of pain is. But I feel insides are bruised, and it's not soreness for sure..because soreness in other parts is completely gone. For now the pain is persisting around arms. Like I cannot turn arms or stretch it all the way up without feeling pain. I've taken iIbuprofin. I dunno if i feel better or not. If the pain still persists...I have to either

Just work out legs
or do exercises that will not painful and not follow all the exercises in the program I am doing now.
