Need help with bulking!

Post by Luckyleo23 »

First off, I guess body shape is considered skinny fat. I have slight definition in arms, chest, and the top of abs. But I still have a little fat covering the lower part of stomach so it just looks fat. About 3 weeks ago a started a program weighing in at 135.

On non training days I eat mainly leafy greens and lean protein.

On non training days I do light cardio

problem is, after doing this for 3 weeks I've actually lost 2 pounds... I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but any help would be great! So no I'm 133 and bf% went from 11% to 14% cuz waist stayed at 30 inches. I hope someone could give me good feedback.

Hi Leo, good to talk to you.

Just stick with it for now. You can't expect miracles in just 3 weeks and you need to give things time and see where you're at after 10-12 weeks, before preempting any possible inadequacies with what you're doing.

Hi Leo,

I think i might have an article that you can read to help you understand bulking a little better.

When it comes to training days and non training days i would recommend eating the same as you would on training days. If you are trying to build muscle mass you have to eat more calories than you are burning off through the day. Don't be afraid to put on some fat, it is normal.

When your eating a calorie surplus you have to be eating good healthy foods in order to minimize fat gain and maximize muscle growth. Eat white and brown rice, sweet potato, oat meal, white potato's, and pasta (on heavy lifting days) for carbohydrates. Stick to your chicken, ground beef, fish, and protein powders (if you use supplements) for proteins. Also add as many veggies as you want!

I'm curious to know where you're at now a few months out...how did the program work out for you?
