GNC Mega Men Sport Vitapaks

Postby Atticus » Sun Apr 05, 2009 2:49 pm

I just recently picked up the supplement "Mega Men Sport" vitapaks. And I just have some questions about it since the box isn't too specific.

When should I take the paks? I was thinking of taking them (I took one today) around 12:00PM, then hitting the gym around 4:00PM. I am going to take them with a High Fiber Oatmeal and a bottle of water (even though I'm drinking like 8 bottles a day almost, sometimes more). I figured that way my food has enough time to digest, I can get the carbs, and the vitapak can absorb.

The Pak does give me a tremendous increase in energy; however, sadly today I did not hit the gym like planned and instead went on a run. I took the pack around 11:00AM and ran at about 3:00PM. However I think it would of more so benefited me of running earlier, so I am thinking of closing the gaps of waiting.

With that, can I still take my Fish Oil Supplements? I looked over the box and couldn't find "Fish Oil" even though one pill states, "Contains Fish and Soybeans."

I understand what the vitapak aims to do and the different things it helps me with.

I just don't know when to take it.

Judging by what's in it, it would seme the most likely time to take it would be after a workout.

The Aminos might assist with the recovery process, though only coupled with a Protein shake or a solid meal, as the number of Amino Acids is quite low, and not enough to be classed as a Protein content.

You could take it in the morning, but there's quite a lot of B Vitamin content in it, which means possibly if you have a Cereal fortified with B's, you might be getting a bit too much with Breakfast, unless you halved the amount, so realistically after workouts, it might be the way forward.

However you could probably just take an normal Multi-vit, split in half first thing, and then just buy something like regular or buffered Vit C in 500mg, or 1g doses, as with a 500mg dose, you'd get a bit more than you would in the Megaman, and get more flexibility in how you dose it.

Thanks Bossman for the reply. I usually think about taking it with Oatmeal, and the morning may be a good idea. I'll have to check on my oatmeal and see what the B Vitatmin Content is. Even though there's an energy enhancer in there which does give me a little extra boost which aids at the gym. Which makes me hesitant after workout.

Making sure we're on the same page, I'm taking the "Vitapak" with the assorted pills. Like shown: http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?pr ... =293853542

I should of posted that earlier. :?

Seems like the same. As I say, I'm not saying ingesting a lot of B Vit at Breakfast will definitely cause issues, as I can't be 100 certain, but if it were to cause even wastage of some of the Vitamin content, it's a waste of good B Vit content.

Normally with vitamin packs they tell you to take them in the morning. I used animal packs before took them in the morning if I took them to late in the day i had a hard time falling asleep. That’s my experience anyway

Unfortunately I already bought them. However they were on sale buy one and get one 1/2 off, plus a 20% Discount. So it ended up nearly half for each box.

But in the morning.. wouldn't the energy enhancer not work as well by afternoon? Like I eat breakfast at 7:00AM, and I gym normally near 3:00PM. That's an 8 hour window.

You can look at the back of the box to show you which pills are which

You can take the vitamins at anytime, i would just suggest to take those after you have eaten (you will absorb more of the vitamins).

I would take the energy and arginine 45mins to an hour before your workout, that way it will give you the energy burst your looking for.

The Glutamine you can take either before or after, since it is a pill i would suggest before so that its more easily used by your muscles for recovery, however you could also take it at night before bed for overnight support.

Just make sure not to take the energy enhancer late at night :)

And yes, you can still take your fish oil with it, fish and soy is probably in the multi.
