Little help

Postby cmokiss23 » Tue Mar 20, 2012 10:12 pm

Hi everyone!

I am new here and i have some questions.

I am 5.5, 140 pounds, medium build and body measurements 39 29 42. I have been working out on and off for about 4 years and right now (for about 4 months) it's the off period again. However, i want to turn it back ON immediately! This time, though, i want to do it the smart way.

I read different articles regarding loosing weight and body types. I very much look like an hour glass but i think i have apple body shape tendencies, that is, my tummy always has some extra fat on it. It doesn't look that bad, but i'd like to push myself and see if i can get it to look the best it can look. I have been told i have weak core muscles (which is why i did pilates for some time) which would probably explain the extra fat.

In the past i believe i did exercising wrong; i pushed myself to do heavy weights and yes, it made me feel better overall. I worked on my abs and they were stronger...but the fat was STILL there! Somehow the fat doesn't leave easily but i can feel the muscles underneath are very strong...sooo my question is:

with a body type like mine (which is hourglass but not completely), what kind of exercises would you suggest I do to lose fat on my stomach, while still strenghtening the rest of the body?

Lots of thanks to y'all

Hi there :).
Focus on diet more at this point. 1lb of added muscle burns an extra 45-50 calories a day, but to get more shred, you must create a net deficeit of fat, so burned is more than stored.

The abdominal improvement, may have helped you get some definition where you wanted it, but unless you crank the eating up to a more controlled and precise level, even if it's good right now, then what you want will be difficult, because unlike someone who is 100 lbs overweight for example and can get results from wholesale change, you're at the stage where little tweaks are desired, for fine tuning of your condition and potentially identifiying exercise based things, that may create little to no additional improvement in the way you wish, will waste your time and potentially cause overtraining, when you overtax your body needlessly, persuing answers to things, that are potentially not based on true wisdom, but merely that of percieved wisdom.

Stick with your current methods and levels of physical exersion and at this point don't increase or change anything, as that may be counterproductive and won't help to isolate the effects of any dietry changes implemented and at this stage isolation of things causal to weightloss is key, to help promote understanding of your future progress, in an accurate way :).

So what meals do you currently eat and what times do you eat?

Hi Boss Man!

Thank you for your reply! Very interesting :) i'm going to answer your question as best as I can. I am a student, so every day is very different. However, i try to eat as best as i can (with some exceptions here and there...i love Mexican food here in Austin, Texas!). In the morning i usually eat eggs, or if not eggs then yogurt, salad (mixed greens, cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar), feta cheese (my fav!). During the day i munch on nuts, apple, or sometimes i buy a breakfast taco (but very rarely, only if i forget the munch stuff at home). I usually don't eat much for lunch because i am at school. When i get home i eat more (sometimes pasta with pesto, sometimes fish, sometimes chicken....depends on what i have). At night i eat a bit, but not as much as during the day. I usually drink a herbal tea before bed because it makes me sleep better.

That's kind of what's going on. There are exceptions. Sometimes i don't feel hungry for a long time and so i don't eat much. Sometimes i'm so hungry i end up eating bad food from the cafeteria beside my school. I don't really keep track, i just try not to over eat. Also timings are never the same really. It changes every day (I know that's bad...). I haven't gained weight from eating this way, but i haven't lost it either. Also, when i work out i tend to gain weight which is why i don't weight myself much when i work out so that i don't discourage myself.

Thank you very much! :)

Two things to consider.

1. Have a good healthy option for Lunch prepared or available from somewhere closeby.

2. Be carfeful about the Feta incase it's a bit on the fatty side. If so, you might want to consider Low Fat Cheese as an alternative.

I suggest you enroll yourself in a fitness program so you can start things right.

In order to maintain perfect body shape, why don’t you try “Love Your Weight Loss” program. It is truly very nice program and one of my cousin tried it, and it really worked for her and now she is looking Wow!!!

I think it is better to go with google, with the term “Love Your Weight Loss” and definitely it would be helpful to you.

Good Luck!!!
