Nutrition and training - One or two steps?

Postby mOcean » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:32 pm

Greetings everyone.

One year ago, I decided to lose weight and started working out for 6-7 months (mainly cardio). The outcome was astonishing and I was overwhelmed. The only side effect is excessive skin, or atleast that's what I think.

Two days ago, I started on a program called "Heart of a Champion", which is weight loss plus muscle building program. At this point I had to think twice. My problem is that I still have excessive skin especially on my chest and my stomach. It is not a lot, but it annoys me. I have what is commonly known as "man boobs". I have no idea whether I should follow the program or do the weight loss first and follow up by training my chest afterwards. My friend told me that I have to tighten up the lose skin in order to get rid of the "man boobs"

I weigh 66 kilograms and I'm 174 centimeters tall.

Any advice?

Michael.

It depends what caused the man boobs. Gynocomastia may be the result of excessive oestrogen.

However, if you did weigh training and added muscle, a lb of muscle burns anthoer 45-50 calories a day, so this would in turn potentially help to tighten up the affected area you're talking about.

My weight-loss caused my 'man boobs'.

I'd say do the routine your on then, if it helps great, if not, then consider another option, as the routine may be one of those dissapointing doesn't work things, where you'd need to find an alternative routine or system with better potential for change.

Whatever you do, good luck and if you need anything else or want to ask any further questions feel free anytime :).

Try to consult your program instructor if you can still do something about the excessive skin you have. For sure, it is not only you who have experienced that.
