Too skinny

Postby jillb069 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 12:16 am

I seem to be losing too much body fat. Especially in the bum and hip area. Im losing my figure a bit. I don't like this.
Maybe I am too stressed. I have been forgetting to eat. Thats how bad these economic times are for me. But I do try like hell to make up for missed meals. I keep track of my caloric intake, I'm getting about 2600 per day, sometimes even 3000. I only do cardio twice a week. I've cut down to 1 day of cardio per week. This week, i'm not doing any cardio. Any ladies ever experience this type of problem. How can I work out, eat right and still keep my "girlish" figure.
Are there any exercises you would recommend i do to make my but bigger? i would really like to hear from you ladies. Thanks so much.

Hi there,

Lunge variations, squat variations, and deadlifts are all great for adding shape to the derrier.

As for you dropping weight quickly... If you are truly eating up to 3000 calories a day it seems odd to me that you would be losing fat that quickly. How long has this been going on? Im wondering if your thyroid might be a bit off?

Thyroid disorders run in both sides of my family. I get checked for it every year. That could be it.

Stress or depression could also be an issue, if it's not your thyroid. You should see a doctor.
My favorite bum-building exercise is the weighted bridge. Lay on your back with your knees bent and rest a heavy dumbell on your hips. Squeeze and lift your hips high. Some variations: feet wide, feet together, one ankle resting across the other knee (single-legged bridge).

Hey I realize that I am not a girl, but try olympic style lifts. Trust me they are so much better for you than isolation and they develop serious size and strength. Try deads, squats, lunges, upright rows, snatch hangs and high pulls, bent press, clean and press, also I really love kettlebells!
