No it doesn't need to, but it should get close.

I LIKE DOING THEM BETTER WITH DUMBBELLS I FEEL LIKE IF I USE A BARBELL I MIGHT FALL FORWARD OR SOMETHING

Then you should use a barbell as it makes you feel off balanced and therefore will better for you because you'll be using more stabalizers and paying more attention to your form rather than how much weight you're slugging! :shock:
