Exercise Program Advice

Postby randys100 » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:43 pm

Can someone recommend a good full body workout program that they have used in the past with successful results? I am just finishing up on 6 weeks (yes, I added 2 extra weeks) of the Chad Waterbury Method. The results were pretty good. I didn't gain much mass or weight but I was really able to focus and refine my form to these types of workouts. I'm not looking for a major bulk up program but I would like to gain some weight for the upcoming running season. As a runner, I tend to spend too much time on cardio and less time on weight training. My goal is to find a program that will compliment a good mix of upper and lower body exercises. I believe that is what I need to become a stronger and faster runner. Hopefully by doing so I will spend less of my time fighting off injuries.

Thanks for your help and advice.

Isn't Chad Waterbury a full body routine? Are you wanting to stick to full body? How many days a week are you wanting to lift? Lifting may or may not help with the running injuries. I've come to the conclusion that some people simply aren't meant to be runners. I used to run half marathons and was always injured. Finally I realized that i simply wasn't meant to be a runner so I switched to bodybuilding and am totally loving the change.

Yes, it is a full body routine and list of workouts was found on http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_arti ... ury_method. The program is meant to change up after 4 weeks (which is beyond where I'm at). I'd like to stick with a full body workout spreadout across 3-4 days of lifting. Right now my schedule is:

Mon, Wed, Fri - Full body routines
Tue, Thu, Sat - Running (or other forms of cardio)
Sun - Off
