Good morning. my friends!! Well, my "party" day is over and back to business. This morning my trainer hit me with a leg workout using the leg press and Smith machines. Holy cow, it was hard!!! I leg pressed 300 lbs which for me was alot! 3x10! Then we went over to the Smith machine and did some squats and lunges. After my weight workout I ran 1 mile on the treadmill at 7.0. My legs and butt are sooo sore already!!

It's going to be a beautiful weekend here so I am planning on starting my garden. That will be a lot of work but I am up to the challenge. I hope you all have great weather and fun things planned!! :D

Perhaps you could try changing the Treadmill work after Legs, for Excercise Bike work. That way although you're using your Legs for cardio, you're not loading the upper body weight on them too, as it should be channelled away from them, into the Seat or Saddle.

This should hopefully promote better recovery of Leg muscles, by reducing Cardio based taxation post-workout.

Hi, everybody! Thank you for the belated birthday wishes. :D Bonnie, was a very busy weekend. Phew! Sports, kids...all that jazz! Was sooo hot here too. About 90 degrees. So, I have decided to go very low carb for the next 2 weeks till I leave for Fla. I hope I can make it!! I didn't have my oatmeal this morning and felt a bit more tired than usual at work later. Nothing I couldn't push through, tho. Today was:

4:45 a.m.-protein shake w/water

5:00 a.m.-full-body workout and kickboxing w/trainer

6:15 a.m.-protein shake with water

7:30 a.m.-mushroom omelette
strawberries

11:00 a.m.-2 lf string cheese
22 almonds

1:30 p.m.-1 cup chic broth
steamed chicken
green beans

4:40 p.m.-1 can tuna w/onions
grape tomatoes

7:30 p.m.-grilled salmon
brussels sprouts

will have snack before bed.

So, I am kinda hungry right now and a bit cranky...yikes, it's going to be a looong 2 weeks! I hope you are all well and gettin yo fitness on in a big way!!!!

That doesn't look particualrly low Carb, except for the no Oatmeal.

Bearing in mind that String Cheese, Mushrooms, Tomatos, Strawberries, Almonds, Green Beans, Onions and Brussels Sprouts are carb carriers.

However the lost Oatmeal will cut down your Fibre, Iron, B Vitamin and also Beta-glucan intake. You might have a small effect on Red Blood Cell, (Erythrocyte levels) and Cholesterol levels, as Beta-glucan helps lower Cholesterol.

This strategy would be more beneficial to you, if you added more Fat in if you haven't already, as you would then require more Fat to help with energy reserves, that reduced Carbs wouldn't.

Then you could also maintain previous calories, so you don't run the risk of possibly losing some muscle into the bargain.

Yes it is amazing how many carbs are in vegetables, it is virtually impossible to avoid all carbs, this is where I give credit to women such as cassie & laReina for having the fortitude to eat they way they must to compete.Keep at it sandi, Im sure u will find your balance :)

Yeah, Boss, you have a pont there, eh? I was thinking no rice, potatoes, oatmeal and that stuff. I really suck at this food thing. Probrably NEVER get it right. Sooo, maybe take out some veggies? I think I will ditch the morning mushrooms. Well, today was pretty good but probrably low on cals...what else is new?

4:45a.m.-protein shake w/water

5:00 a.m.-1 hr elliptical

7:00 a.m.-protein/fruit smoothie w/protein powder, nat pb, strawberries, banana and ff milk...LOVE IT!

10:30 a.m.-2 lf string cheese
2 hardboiled eggs

2:00 p.m.-lean ground turkey w/kidney beans and taco seasoning

5:30 p.m.-2 lean turkey burgers (no bun) w/onion and spicy mustard
low fat cream spinach

will have a snack soon

Yeah, Bon, what in God's name did they eat??

I know you're going for low carbs... but your calories intake seems pretty low? I don't know if you're counting or not... but how much you think you're intaking?
