Patty, when I first saw your most recent 'before and after' pictures, I got tears in my eyes. Seriously, you have put in the time with your workouts and healthy eating and it has paid off for you and you should be beaming with pride! What an awesome role model you are for your children and others around you, including all us here at shapefit. Thank you sooooo much for sharing! Congrats!

You guys are all so awesome. I couldn't have done it without the support from you guys. Whenever I felt I was all alone, like the pressures of the world were against me getting fit, you guys snapped me back to reality. You all helped me through the temptations of being lazy and eating too much. You all taught me techniques, programs, proper forms, perseverance and diet. We even had some laughs! :D

Thanks you

6 days until I fight in Bethel Maine. Scared to pieces, training real hard every day. Hopefully I'll get over the nerves and kick some butt karate style! I'll post pictures when I get them!

You guys aren't going to believe this, but my teacher told me tonight that I was fighting FULL CONTACT. No gloves, no head gear, no shin pads. All I will have with me is my mouth guard and the rounds a three minutes instead of two. Also in full contact, there is double overtime, not just one extension if a tie. I thought I was fighting semi contact , with some protection. I was nervous before, but now I am almost scared. All the women coming up for this tournament's full contact matches are black belts with years of experience, I have only a year of experience, just barely. He said that will come home with gold because I am a beast. When he said that my buddy Ryan was walking by and gave me a hug, because he called me a beast earlier.

Months ago I wanted to do full contact for this tourny, and was told that I couldn't because I lacked experience and skill. Now just a few days away, I am told that I can. Well in karate, I wasn't told that I can, i was told that I was gonna do it.

I have very mixed feelings

Saturday is the day I fight, so Sunday, I will post pictures with my gold...um I mean, i'll give updates. 8)

So one of my teachers gave me the news about the women I'll be fighting. One of them is the girl she fought last fall, a black belt who was invited to the world tournament in Hungury. Another girl is a brown belt who is inmovable because she is so tough. After she described the tough girl and the champion girl, I kind of tuned out on the other girls. So I guess the real pictures will either be a trophy or my xrays, we will see. Xrays are cool too.
