Just when I think I'm getting better I wake up once again to major sniffles, coughing and more of a mess than yesterday - every muscle and bone aches...and I haven't exercised since last week sometime...no fever so I'm not thinking it's the flu but who knows....if it doesn't go away soon I'm going to have to go to the doctor, but my guess is it will just have to run its course. Good news is I've lost a few pounds - however it's probably muscle :(

See you soon - I hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all your well wishes.

Hi guys! I'm finally feeling better and started my exercise program on Monday. i just didn't get a chance to post - thanks for all your well wishes! I hope to stay on schedule now - even though my poor little Precious is right now recovering at the vet from a fairly simple procedure, but next week has to go in for an operation - she should be ok, but she's been on antibiotics for almost 3 weeks without success and they found a fairly good size stone in her urethra that looked like a snowflake - poor baby must've been in such pain but she never really let on.

So here goes:

Monday

WU_ Jumping Jacks
Dead Lifts 75 lbs. 3 x 10
Sumo Squats 4 x 10
Shoulder Press 8 lbs. 3 x 15
Lat Pull Down 70 lbs. 3 x 15
SAR's 25 lb DB's - 3 x 10
Posterior Delts 5 lbs. 3 x 20
Incline Flyes - 5 lb DB's 3 x 15
Exterior Rotation with Ceiling Punch - 5 lbs DB's - 3 x 20 x 2
External Rotation (Band) 3 x 15
Curls 8 lb DB's 3 x 10
Tricep Ext. 10 lbs. 2 x 15

Tuesday - Treadmill - Steady Cardio at 2.8 mph no incline. Knees still bothering me so taking it easy 35 minutes.

Wednesday

My plan to workout today did not pan out - once the vet called for me to pick up my little girl I lost my desire to workout. I'll pick it up tomorrow and just take this as my day of rest.
Lynne - PLEASE come to CT! :)

Have a great day!

Yay LU! Glad you are feeling better and have been able to get some workouts in! :D Sorry about little Precious, hopefully she wasn't in too much pain...and will be better very soon! My little Scottish/Rat terrier mix dog is such a wimp...you just squeeze her sometimes and she lets out a screech. When I take her to get her coat trimmed, and the guy takes her from me, I have to warn him that she is VERY skittish, and thinks you are basically trying to kill her...so be patient with her and what ever you do, don't squeeze the Scotty!!! hahahaha!

Today's Workout

Warm up - 50 Jumping Jacks

Dead Lifts 75 lbs 3 x 10
Sumo Squats BW 4 x 10
Single Arm Rows 20 lb DB's - 3 x 20
Shoulder Press 8 lb 3 x 15 paired with
Lat Pulldowns 60 lbs. 3 x 15
Tricep Press 10 lbs. 3 x 20
Posterior Delts 5 lbs 3 x 20
Incline Flyes 5 lbs. 3 x 15
Back Ext. (Swiss Ball) 2 x 12
Reverse Bridge (Swiss Ball) 2 x 15
Passover (Swiss) 1 x 10 <---just trying it out.

External Rotation (Band) 2 x 20 (Neutral and elevated)
Also on Swiss ball, lying over it hands down. shifting weight from side to side.

Remember I'm working with a rotator cuff issue, probably a tear and have adjusted my workout to lower weights higher reps. I'm not pursuing an MRI as surgery is not an option I'm willing to consider at this time- I'm comfortable working with a max weight for certain exercises at 10-15 lbs. and working to get more strength - the cortisone shot helped tremendously!

Have a great day! I need to catch up with where everyone is - I also see lots of new faces! Yeah!

i think you should still get the mri so you can find out what the actual problem is...you could be making it worse and not even know it

Hi guys! I just got back from NYC - had a wonderful time! We saw South Pacific which was fabulous! I worked out at the hotel gym - treadmill and weights - and TONS of walking! You might remember last year we went to the city and show around the same time. There were 35 of us this year.

I'm still working out, but have lost a little steam - my workout buddy hasn't been feeling well, plus now his back is bothering him - I was sick for awhile, and my shoulder once again is hurting. Looks like Swanso was right (again!) and I should get an MRI and find out what is actually wrong....it's really putting a damper on my ability to remain focused and excited. ALSO, I'm a summer person - I think I'm depressed - I need a shot of sunshine!!

I'm still committed to eating clean and exercise - I may not be here everyday, but I'm with you in spirit and think of you all often! Lesplease - I've been looking at airfare to Florida - I'm hoping to get away for a few days - if I do I'll let you know because I'd still love to catch up with you!

Today - Back to work!!!

Chin Ups/Pull ups - 3 x 15 (using assist on FT) twice with hands facing in - once with hands facing me.
Posterior Delts - 5 lb DB's 3 x 20
Incline Flyes- 5 lb DB's 3 x 10
Sumo Squats 3 x 10 BW
Single Arm Rows - 20 lb.s 3 x 15

I'm sitting here experiencing a beautiful snow storm! Ahhh...what a winter wonderland! So glad I don't need to go out in it! And I have absolutely NO excuse for not going to the gym - so, as soon as I take a batch of home made protein bars out of the oven I will be heading upstairs - Cardio today - Treadmill...probably steady no incline due to knees.....I just love this kind of day! BTW - these protein bars are very addictive (love 'em!)....this is probably my 10th batch! Thank you Brentyboy! I put no sugar or sugar substitute in mine - the chocolate bits make it sweet enough - and I love putting dried pineapple, cherries and blueberries in them. Sometimes I think my workout buddy (Will) comes only for the protein bars! LOL

Lesplease wrote:Also, don't knock the hoop! Hula hoopin' is probably my favorite form of cardio!

I was told no more than 12 minutes on the Hula Hoop - do you do it longer than that? I love the Hula Hoop, but I guess I didn't think it was as good as the treadmill or Elliptical. The elliptical kicks my butt - that's what I should be doing ~!

Had my hair done today, color and cut - haven't worked out yet - will be weights, I'll report in later. Just called doctors office to discuss getting an MRI so we can discuss the results at my next appointment in the 26th if possible. I really need to know what's up with my shoulder - it's worse now than before :(

Les - this is the basics on the protein bars. It's 3 cups of oatmeal, 1/2 c dry milk. 1 c of apple sauce (I use Blueberry) 1 1/2 c of Protein Powder (I use 1 c straw, 1/2 c chocolate) 1/2 c egg whites, 1 cup of natural peanut butter - 1 c trail mix with dried fruit 1/4 c chocolate morsels, 1/4 c coconut, 1/4 c sunflower seeds, about 1/4 c of whatever - actually from the trail mix on I alternate with stuff - dried pineapple, cherries, blueberries, nuts (almonds, sunflower seeds etc. - mix it all together, spread in a oblong or rectangle pan and bake at 300 for about 30 minutes. Makes about 15 bars, but I cut them in half and get twice that amount - they are sooooo filling! The large ones contain about 20g of protein.....
