Postby khanhhoa1912 » Thu May 27, 2010 7:56 am

Hi,
Im Tommy. Currently,Im going to gym 4 days/week and wondering that how I could apply " Periodization " as Im glad to get the maximum result in minimum amount of time. This is my training journal :
1st day :upper body
Barbell Press, Rotary lat machine, Butterfly machine ( chest ), Lat pulldown, Barbell bicep curls, V bar pushdown for triceps, seated dumbell curl ( biceps) and Barbell upright row (traps )

2nd day:lower body
Lying leg curl( hamstings) , abs machine, Quadriceps curl machine, Cable inner thighs pull , dumbell one arm side (shoulder)

3rd day: off

4th and 5th day : repeat as above

During workout, I try to gain 6 sets containing 10 reps each for each exercise.
my weight : 45kg, height 1.67m ,age :20. Its been a month for this training however my weight has been remaining 45kg even heavier weights been added
Please leave your opinions.

Hey Tommy. I see that no one has yet replied to you on this and that is simply wrong so here you go. I am no expert but, in my humble opinion, it may just be the weight lifting gods penalizing you for calling it "periodization training". I know that if I were a weight lifting god (not saying that I'm not, not saying that I am) and had the power to stop people from achieving their goals, I might just play that card here. Try calling it something less scientific sounding and I'll bet you the results start multiplying for you.

I kid with you because I saw your profile pic and clearly you are in very good shape so you are certainly on the right track with what you are doing no matter what you call it. Also because Singapore would be a really long trip for you to take just for the purpose of kicking my ass. Anyway, I really have no idea what periodization training is but thought that maybe if I replied to you here, it would motivate others to also respond and help you out.

Good luck to you my friend,

Drew (unless you really were planning to fly all the way out to beat me up in which case my name is certainly not Drew)

If either of you notice this irregular timestamping again, let me know and i'll tell Admin to get tech on it. As one of you can't reply to the others post, 1hr 54 minutes before it's been posted, that's weird other dimension twilight zone stuff  .

Hey Bossman. I don't see what you're seeing. The time stamps seem to all match up reasonably from what I can tell. Or maybe it has been subsequently fixed since you posted this?

In any case, when I read your post I got excited that I'd perhaps figured out how to time travel and was about to start packing my bags for 1776 to enjoy a truly authentic 4th of July celebration.

Thanks for raining on that parade.

:(

tip number 1: get off the machine and use free wt exercises (squats, lunges, chin ups, deadlifts)

and it's simply amazing that a 20yr old doesn't ave a bench ores in there...
