Hey, Nokie. I added it up to about 1,500 cals. Yeah, it could've been better but I skipped one meal cause I was outside gardening and lost track of time. Was sooo nice out!!! :).

Keep the Mushrooms, they're good for things like B Vitamins and Copper and some Mushrooms like Lentinen contain Beta-glucan, which is often found in Whole-grains and is good for lowering Cholesterol.

Not sure if all Mushrooms contain it though.

In fairness Bonnie, a lot of Veggies are mild for Carbs. Broccoli and Potato are good for Carbs, but things like Lettuce are pathetic on Carbs and I'm not convinced things like Onions and Carrots are massive carriers either.

Dispite the name, yes they are fine.

Some major ones to avoid are Deadly Nightshade, Belladonna and Fly Agaric, but unless you start picking those out of forest, you won't find them in a Supermarket

Obviously avoid the Magic ones, as they cause Hallucinations or some such undesirable effect.

Ahh yes, I've heard about those when I was in college. One of my crazy friends used to scout the forest looking for them. Then he watched Cirque du Soleil and thought he was being attacked by clowns!!!

That's one for Californian Psyches to analyse. I wonder how many people do what you just said? I bet the Psyches would need a whole conference, devoted to the analysis and understanding of people, who get freaky circus film characters, confused with one another

The 100 page, peer-reviewed thesis that would follow, should be available on Pubmed by about May 2012 at the latest :P

Hey, everyone...glad you are all having fun in my journal!! Well, today was an exhausting day. Training at 5 a.m.. I wore a 20 lb weighted vest while holding 10 lb dumbells for lunges, squats and step-ups!! Then I did 1 1/2 mi run at 7.0. Then I went to work. I am sooo sore and tired!! My food totaled up to about 1,700 cals today. Was 48 % protein, 44 % fat and 8 % carbs. Hmmm, too much fat??

4:45 a.m.-protein shake w/water

5:00 a.m.-workout w/trainer and run on treadmill

6:15 a.m.-protein shake w/water

7:30 a.m.-omelette (no mushrooms)
strawberries

10:30 a.m.-2 lf string cheese
1 oz peanuts

1:30 p.m.-blackened salmon

4:30 p.m.-3 links turkey sausage
2 hardboiled eggs

7:30 p.m.-2 grilled turkey burgers
low fat creamed spinach

will have snack before bed.

Sooo, about the mushrooms. I use baby bella. Yummm! Tomorrow I am off work, thank goodness! Will be up early for cardio, tho. I hope you all had a great day!! :D

Wow... Sandi... your workout is crazy with a vest & weights... how many sets and reps for the lunges, squats and step-ups?? Carbs are pretty low... Are you aiming for the high protein & fat and Low carb diet?? I read about it... It's for short term tho...

Actually I rarely use Pub Med. I could, but I just don't really think about it.

Hi, Friends! Yeah, a weighted vest!! When he told me I was going to wear it I was like.....are you serious??? I did 3 sets of 10 on each exercise. On the lunges was 10 on each leg! Let me tell you I am soooooo sore today!! I can hardly walk. LOL. My foods were pretty much the same today. Nokie, I am trying to go low carb till I leave for my trip in two weeks. I took the kids for ice cream at a local dairy bar and I had the most delicious sugar-free moose tracks ice cream topped with sugar free caramel syrup!! It was so heavenly I wondered how could it be sugar free??? Yeah, I know probrably loaded with fat but hey, a girl's gotta have ice cream with the kids on a beautiful night! This morning I did one hr cardio on elliptical at 5 a.m.. Tomorrow morning is training with my trainer. Ohhhh, I wonder what he has in store for me tomorrow. He just keeps making things harder and harder! Nite-nite, everyone!
