LOL! Hey it gives you something to work towards :D I used to waterski all the time - I started when I was 12 and haven't been since I was about 20 - actually, the local ski team wanted me to join when I was 13, but I was too timid to do it - one of my few regrets...

Oh dude....ahhh dudette, that would have rocked. We didn't have a boat growing, but I always wanted to try waterskiing so finally bought one, and love going out. My boys have been on the boat since birth, they have a blast boarding, tubing, and just anchoring in the middle of the lake and jumping off....front-flips, backflips, cannonballs, pencil dives....so fun to watch them. Amazes me how the little ones try so hard to keep up with the oldest, if he does it, they want to do it. They advance so quick that way. And of course, I'm out there too, master of the ski's, but second place on the wakeboard, my 12 year old is advancing quickly, my 8 is a bit timid, but I expect that will end, as he gains confidence, and he will pass me by the end of Summer I suspect.

You're really making me miss it! There was nothing I loved more than skiing :D Never did wakeboard, though. And tubing...ahhh, the memories of getting violently thrown from the tube as you try with all of your might to hang on for dear life  I sure took a lot of water up my nose back in those days

oh yea, you know it, what kills me is when someone says "betchya can't flip me off the tube" not the right thing to say, if you know what I mean. Totally fun on the water, as you say. Plan on spending alot of this coming weekend right on the lake. Hoping for Sunny, Hot, weather. Did you do double ski, or slalom? Ok, here I am....see the fear?

I did both - started out double skis but graduated to slalom pretty quickly. I was all over the place :) Wow, I can imagine what a workout that would be now - LOL!

I will have to see if I can dig up a picture :D I wasn't afraid of the camera back then... not til I gained weight  Yes, my parents got a houseboat when I was in the seventh grade. We live right by the Mississippi and spent our summers there. They got a ski boat right away and we certainly made use of both :D I really do miss it, I grew up a river rat :D

Sweet.....love the River Rat. Watch alot of vids of River Runs, and have a sweet spot for Hydrostream speed boats, which are great for speed on the river. Almost bought one a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't agree on a price with the guy. Was just looking at La Crosse, looks like plenty of water around. I'm assuming thats part of the Mississippi (thats MI crooked letter, crooked letter.....oh sorry) The houseboat thing sounds like an on the water camping trip....nice!

It was nice, great memories :D Yes, we have plenty of water around here! Boating is definitely a lifestyle... I only wish my parent's hadn't gotten out of it. They moved to a condo on the river at one point and once we all graduated and left home they didn't use it as much so they eventually just got out :(

Nope, nobody does any water sports anymore. One of my sisters is considering getting a boat so that may get us started again :D Crossing my fingers

It's something, if you have a boat to make the time to use it, really fun, but if you don't use them there easy to sell, so you don't have to see it sitting there not getting used. Barbie would rather go play VB, so alot of times I take the boys myself, and we go out......bag thing about that, I don't get to ski....:( I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya too, that she'll get one.... :)

nice lake pics Will. That looks so much like the lake behind my ma&pa inlaws house in Virginia Beach. My husband was raised on that lake and learned to ski, just like your boys are doing. When we go visit them he still goes out and skis - slalom skis, jumps the wake, all that stuff - showing off for me, and i love it! I have tried several times to get up on the skis, and to date my longest ride was about 45 seconds before I face planted - but, it was the most exhilarating and fun 45 seconds EVER! :D We are going there in a few weeks - maybe I'll get another shot at it, eh? The hardest part for me is in the water, with the skis on your feet trying to keep them straight, waiting for the boat to start pulling you, then when it starts, I feel like I am being pulled too far forward and then trying to keep my legs from crossing one another, all the while being pounded with water and waves in my face - balancing, staying upright...and if I get past all of that, oh...for the joy of that blissful feeling when you are gliding across the top of the water, its great! even if it was only 45 seconds.

LMAO.....that is all so true. It can depend on the size of the boat, and whether it has enough power to pull you up quick. We had a smaller boat b4 this one, and I would wait for her to hit it the I would basically do a row, and yank my self up out of the water, my hands usually ended up just about over my head, then the boat would catch up, and could slowly let the rope out. The boat we have now has the power to just pull me up. It can get discouraging putting all the pieces together, but determination can overcome them all. Its quite easy once you get up, the launch to me is by far the hardest part. Glad ur hubby still does it, anything we can do to hold onto youth, I think is good............well within reason, of course..... :D
