thank you!

everyday im gonna try some sort of class. today im gonna try a life power vinyasa class.

taking the classes gets my mind off things. when i do weights all i think about is why arn't i loosing the weight with the effort im putting into it. this way by taking the classes if i dont see the quick results i wont care as much because im getting out everyday and im having so much fun! im not saying im giving up on the weight training but this makes me feel so good and i have a great time doing it. if i feel my body needs a rest day i wont get upset about it. i know it needs it for all the hard work its doing. i just dont want to stop! im having such a blast! this week has put me in such a good mood! :D

I think finding something you really like is the key to being able to stick to it. Sounds like you are doing a great job.

so this morning was suppose to be my weigh in day. mark and i had discussed it last nite that hes worried that i'm still focusing too much on my weight. he wants me to look at how i'm beginning to feel about myself from this. he said how i feel about my self is more important and that the weight loss is the bonus to it. so we agreed on weighing in only once a month.

hes worried that if i dont see the results i'm looking for right away with the weight i'll get depressed again and i agree with him on that. i always have this roller coaster affect when i look at the scale darn him for catching on to it. lol i'm happy hes helping me through this. its not easy.

thank you! speaking of hitting it harder at the gym. today my sinus headache was awful! i pushed myself to go to a yoga class. i was sniffling the whole time. lol not easy with a runny nose doing a down word dog pose let me tell ya. lol :)

those days are tough to get through but my lower back felt great afterwords. it was worth it.

how the classes are doing sofar

Postby rockchick_82808 » Fri Oct 22, 2010 8:45 am

its been a while since i have made a post thought id let everyone know how i'm doing. i've been sticking to my cardio kickboxing. its three days a week. i go to all three if in not scheduled to work. if i do happen to work that day i either take a yoga class or put in a hour and a half in cardio. i do a half hour on either a bike, or elliptical then an hour and cool down on the treadmill. over all burn over a thousand calories a day. i work out 6days a week now. if my body needs an extra rest day i allow it. i cant get over the amount of energy i have now. i'm actually keeping up with my kickboxing class too! i use to have to run to the side and constantly drink water and rest bc of being out of breath. now i only drink the water when she gives us the break for it. after that short break i noticed i'm always the first to jump back in and get goin again. lol. i've really been enjoying myself. i cant get over the amount of sweat i'm dripping.

i still haven't weighed myself. my month isnt up yet. but i did measure.

the last couple months were hectic for me bc of a sick grandfather and then passed away. leavin me in charge of everything. emotionally eating was a big habit for me so i new i gained weight and inches. the pants i had were too tight. well on oct. 7th i decided to brave it out and measure my hips and waist. together i gained 5in. i don't if i lost any more before that but i used that day as a starting point. on the 19th i lost one inch on the hips and on the waist!!! so i have 3more to go to get me back to were i was before those last couple months.

my diet has been getting better. when i go out to eat with the family i eat only half my meal. i separate it before i even start eating. i bought a lot of special k snacks for work to keep there incase im running late and forget to pack a lunch. its been helping. i only bought one candy bar from work in 2wks! been trying to eat a salad everyday as well. i haven't even had a pint of ben and jerrys in over a month! i would have one pint a week! before that it was almost a pint a day!!!!! it took a long time to break the habit. i still get the craving. ill eventually buy one. but keep it down to once a month or so. my sweet tooth is really bad!

i've been making banana smoothies or strawberry when at home with more ice than milk. yes i use 2%. i know i know skim but its so good. lol

over all for the first time im really sticking to it. i would always roller coaster up and down up and down with diet. id have my spurts with exercise then quite a week or more. right now...i'm doing really good. finding these classes has helped. granted i like lifting weights i needed something to change it up. now that it is i don't get bored or sick of it. you'd think that an hour on a treadmill would bore me but i have to pay so much attention to the heart rate intervals i don't have time to. its been great!

not to mention its been helping with my stress as well. i have about 1 week i think or so to do my weigh in. i'm nervious, i'm scared that if don't see at least one pound lost ill go down hill again. it was a habit. but i have to kick that thought and look at the inches i'm loosing, the energy im gaining and most of all...the FUN i'm having!

i'm actually sticking to my diet journal

Postby rockchick_82808 » Tue Oct 26, 2010 7:41 am

so i had decided to use the workout and exercise journal on this site and i have to say i'm shocked that i have actually started sticking to it. i think its because i like how you can see your calories in a calories out. plus it lists soooo many foods you dont have to look at the labels of everything. helps to make it easier. i have two more weeks before i have to go to the bahamas. i hope my inch a week i have been losing continues so by the time we go, i'll be where i was a couple months ago. i to feel as good about my self as i can because i dont want to feel like im judging my self because of all the pretty ladies at the beach. its a vacation and i want to escape from it. i think the hotel also has a gym there. i may bring some gym clothes with me...we'll see. i know i have my weigh in coming up just before we leave for the trip. i'm debating on holding off untill we get back. i just dont want the pounds to interfere with how i feel right now. i figure i'll face it when the time comes.

a new bump in the road.

Postby rockchick_82808 » Tue Nov 02, 2010 6:18 am

well as of jan. i will no longer have a gym membership. my mom can't afford to continue paying it and i wont be able to take it over myself right now. im not entirely worried when it comes to the weight lifting bc i have a womans health book and it has tons of weight lifting moves and work out programs to follow its my cardio im worried about. winter is coming and i wont be able to walk outside. our sub. is so bad. it takes over a wk if not more after each snowfall for the sidewalks to be cleared if at all. so my question is do workout videos really work? im thinking of investing in a few. i have some for pilates but thats stretching not a hard work out. i need to come up with some ideas. they have a treadmill but the belt scares me. if u put too much weight down and dont lift up fast enough it bunches up. the bike isnt the greatest either. if anyone has ideas to throw my way im open to it.

vidoes would work but i know the beach body commerical ones are expensive. They are people that make p90x and insanity. They also make turbo jam (you'd probably liike turbo jam its kind like a kickboxing workout) and a few others. So by the time you buy them you could have stayed at your gym for another month or two probably. I'm sure there are some cheaper more affordable DVD's out there. though at target or amazon, etc. I think anything would work as along as you have the motivation to stick to it. :)

Didn't I copy and paste something for you a while back, which was an in-house circuit workout?

I've done that before, so I don't have to re-write the original.

You migth be able to find it again if not, using the search facility.
