I put in another 5 miles this evening making my grand total for the week 22 miles. The Garmin decided to act up again so no readout for the run. That kinda ticks me off because I pushed hard on the last mile and I would have liked to have known my pace.

Today I signed up for the Illinois half marathon being held April 30th.

I had a good weigh in today I lost the pound I put on over Thanksgiving plus another. That put me at 206. I did an 8 mile run this morning. I wanted to pick up the pace, but the ground was pretty icy and I was afraid of losing my footing. That didn't stop some of the other hardcores out there who blazed past me. I really need to eventually get my pace down to around 12 minute per mile for the long runs. The half marathon I am running the last day in April requires a 13:45 max for a finisher. I want as much cushion between me and that pace as possible. Another half that I have penciled in in July requires a 13 minute pace. I really should not be worried I should be about 15 to 20 pounds lighter by the end of April.

I took an extra rest day today. My whole body was sore and I had a rough time sleeping. The 22 miles last week may have taken a toll. I feel pretty good this evening. I think tomorrow is a 6 miler with the group and I am looking foward to it. If I get in another 6 Friday I will still have 20 miles fr the week. 8)

Thanks! 8)

I felt really good on today's run. The nagging little injuries are slowly going away. I was confident enough to push myself a little today without fearing hurting myself further. I had thought we would be doing 6 miles today, but it was another 5 miler. I felt really strong at the end and I think if there was another mile to go I could have picked it up more. :D

I ran 7 miles in wind and snow today. I think it was the most exhausting I have ever done. The last 3 1/2 miles was into a head wind. My Garmin one again screwed up so no readout. I lost 3 lbs this week putting me at 203 now.

Wow, great job on the weight loss, Edgar :D I admire you for running in this weather - I know I couldn't do it. They must really clear snow quickly by you! There is really nowhere to run around here!

Thanks everyone, my complaints were really tongue in cheek. I am proud of myself. Yesterday was not fun. I had a colonoscopy today which was really not that bad, but prepping for it yesterday was not fun. There was nothing wrong with me except I am over fifty and had dodged it the past 6 years.

I am going to a dinner with the running club tonight and I plan to cheat a little. But, hey, I did not get to eat at all yesterday.
