Yes, it is hard work! This time it was just a light 3 inches so it was an easy shovel, but it is still a good workout. I guess it just seemed easy because I am used to the 9 to 20 inch snowfalls from December :D

Pictures from southern states that hasn't had snow in ages. A new ice age is upon us? :P

Bonnie and Lynne, I didn't even see your posts until now, we must have posted at the same time - LOL! Yes, Bonnie, it definitely gives me something to work towards :D

Lynne, I was surprised at how many workout videos my library had - unfortunately for P90X they only have the PLUS, not the regular. But I may be getting them from a friend for really cheap so then I can do the regular ones :D My library allows me to go online and reserve what I want and they call me when it is available - they even transfer between the local libraries (up to like 45 miles away in our library system!). I can keep them for a week so it works out really well - you should definitely check it out!

I know, isn't it crazy about the snow  I can't even imagine the problems it is causing down south where they don't have the plows available and people don't know how to drive in it - I bet there were a TON of accidents.

So tonight I did the Total Body Plus dvd from P90X Plus    All I can say is OUCH! I could barely walk up my stairs afterwards!!! I will definitely be feeling it tomorrow :D I think tomorrow night I will try the Interval X with the Ab ripper dvd (also from the P90X Plus set). It looks brutal :D

A bit of possible bad news - I am hearing bad things about this gym I was thinking about joining. It is really small and I guess it is hard to get the use of machines. And I would be going during the busiest times because of my schedule. I have a free day pass so my sister is going to go with me (hopefully on Saturday) to check it out. My biggest reason for wanting to join is because I really, really want to run again, and I just don't have a safe place to run outdoors in the winter. So I guess we will see. But like I said before, I may be getting the 13 P90X dvds for really cheap so if I don't like the gym I may just stick with the dvds for now.

Have a super night!

I heard the equipment isn't the greatest. I am trying to keep an open mind because the person I heard this from is a complainer (nothing is ever right, never good enough). I don't know anything about what machines are good and which ones aren't, so once I go I may have to do a little research on what they have.

As for going during peak times, if we go Saturday it would be in the morning, which would be one of the peak times. Maybe I will see if they can extend the free pass so that I can come a night after work next week as well.

Touch choice about the gym. P90x is defnitely a good workout though so that and you can use your sister's exercise equipment, not to mention you can run outdoors during daylight hours on the weekend so maybe that would be enough til spring? I guess you will find out when you go this weekend and see how you like it. :)

Jocelyn another thought is if you really want the gym to run again, you could try the U of WI lacrosse if its not far away or other communicty centers that have an indoor track. Sometimes they let the public run for a buck or two on their indoor tracks during certain times.

Great idea Becky - although UWL is 20 minutes from here so I doubt I would waste the gas. I am definitely getting the P90X within the next couple of weeks so I think I might focus on that and then decide if I want to join the gym.

Today I just shoveled, so basically cardio and a little weights :D Oh, how I am sick of shoveling! Remind me again why I live in Wisconsin  But I must admit the shoveling did quite a number on my abs tonight. I can't complain about that. But I sure would like spring to show up anytime now...

Well, Becky, it doesn't look like it will be here anytime soon - it is supposed to get down to 15 below zero tomorrow night (before windchills) :(

I did the P90X Interval Plus workout tonight. Okay, so I did half of it. And it took me forever to recover afterwards  I think I was still sweating after my shower   Wow, I really enjoyed it, though! It is all cardio moves (some pushups so far) and you do three intervals of each thing, increasing your intensity each time. It is crazy!!!! The main reason I didn't finish it was because of my feet - I would have pushed through it even though I was exhausted, but my feet were KILLING ME! I may need to get special inserts or something because whenever I do any kind of plyo/jumping my feet are in serious pain. And I have had the problem with 5 different pairs of shoes, so I don't think it is a shoe issue.

I also think I know why my knee started hurting (I may have mentioned this before). I don't think running is what caused it, I think it just aggravates it. Anyway, when I am at work I sit on my left foot. All the time. I have noticed the more I sit on it the more my knee hurts. So the last two days I have made a conscious effort to NOT sit on my foot. It's not easy :x I think I attempted about 100 times today, but I am happy to say I made it all day without sitting on it. Hopefully I can keep it up!

Tonight I did the P90X Interval Plus workout again - this time I made it the entire way through :D I had a lot of anger in me this time so it kind of helped me to push it out of me - it sure beats eating a box of cookies when I am angry, which is what I used to do  I'm not saying I wasn't tempted, because I certainly was! But I pushed through it with a really tough workout instead - good choice :D

I put inserts in my shoes this time to see if it helped - no such luck, the middle third of the workout my feet were in serious pain. I wish I knew what the problem was - could it be a medical issue? It hurts in the balls of my feet (basically right at the start of the arch) and stretches through the outside part. It is driving me crazy, I feel like I can't give it 100% because I am so focused on my pain. I pushed through it anyways, but not sure if that is such a good idea.

Another thing I have noticed is how hungry I get at night. I usually eat dinner around 7:00 pm - my typical dinner consists of a 4 oz chicken breast, 1/2 cup brown rice, and 1 to 1.5 cups of veggies. But I am still famished after I eat  After I workout I shower and then make my dinner right away - I am wondering if it is because I just worked out and it gets my metabolism going??? Anyhow, I think I will start having a protein shake after I workout, before my shower. I am hoping that helps to curb my appetite through the night.

That's what I have been doing, along with a medium or small banana, and it helps to keep my appetite down.
Way to push through and finish the workout! :D
