Last night I blew it with my food  BUT, we went to a local restaurant (the one where my workout buddy who use to come over in the morning works) planning to have a light meal at the bar as we wanted to see the "before" - let me explain. The Food Net Work has been there for days, maybe weeks, and this restaurant will be featured in "Restaurant Impossible" sometime in January/February. We have been invited as my friends guests Wednesday for the grand re-opening after the Food Network makes changes in decor and menu - and whatever else I guess. The restaurant is closed today and tomorrow until 6 PM. anyway, as we arrived they were filming, I guess "before" stuff - and we were asked if we minded eating Chateau Briand as they wanted to film it. How could we say no????We didn't even have to pay for it? Anyway, mostly they filmed the table side food prep - so we may not even be in the final show but it was an exciting evening- can't wait until tomorrow!!

I didn't eat much, a little meat (3 oz), all the asparagus and half of the baked tomato that seemed to be stuffed with some kind of cheese. I did have a little bread and half of a bottle of a good Pinot Noir  Guess today is going to be MY Monday - a NEW start!

Today I see the trainer at 10 AM - have a great day!

Went to the trainer - worked again on the machines, working me to fatigue...it's really hard to describe - he's very hands on and really pushed me....today though I was very dizzy...not only when I stood up fast or had my head below my waist for any period of time - I've been light headed, dizzy all day. Hope I'm not coming down with something - my hubby is sick, cold type symptoms - had a flu shot last week...who knows.
anyway, I'll see the trainer again next week, but then not until November - and he has agreed to come to my house -after all I need to know how to make my equipment work for me. He knows I'm not a candidate for long term training...no job, no $$$$ - good news is that I may have a job in the wings that I'm working on :)

Today jumped on the elliptical for 30 Minutes on the Fat Burning Program level 5. My weight has stayed the same but I feel thinner and more fit. :)

That puzzle thing looks more like a punishment. Something you're forced to drag along behing you for being sinful :P

Well, I need something when I'm bad ;) LOL

Took yesterday off - Today couldn't get going until this afternoon, here's what I did:

Stretched then got to work.

Incline Flyes, 3 x 15, 8 lb DB's - next time I'm going to increase weight to 10 lbs.
Incline Chest Press, 3 x 15, same weights
Single Arm Rows 3 x 10, 30 lbs. - increased from 25 - need to start increasing my weights again, I'm feeling like now is the time.
Low to high w rotation 1 x 10 x 2 - 30 lbs
Squats, 3 x 10, 50 lbs.

Bossman - didn't change much about my workout - will try to change it up next week.
Leg Extensions, 3 x 10, 50 lbs. I pay particular attention to the negative ..... Did 10 minutes on the Elliptical on Glute Burn Level 5

Going to close up camp this weekend, so probably won't be able to update or exercise, but all the work that needs to be done will be a fairly good replacement.

Have a good weekend!

No formal workout today but I definitely got a workout! I finished closing up camp and then went and emptied the boat, including all cuddy cushions as we need to get them re-upholstered this winter. We also brought the Kayak home - my hubby and I put it on top of out CRV, but he has had a stabbing pain in his back for 3 days now, so I had to empty both cars and brought everything (except the Kayak) down to the basement - up and down many times! Additionally I had to consolidate all food, cleaning supplies etc - so lots of walking back and forth. I know it doesn't sound like much but I was full steam all day and I am tuckered out! I feel like I got a good workout :)

Hope you all had a great day!

Sounds like a muscular pain problem, rather than a nervous one. If it wasa shooting pain not stabbing, it would then potentially be more Nervous.

I misspoke - it's a shooting pain, definitely nerves - the only thing that helps is laying down with pillows under his knees...taking ibprophen. He gets this at least once a year...once he was down flat on his back for 2 weeks! Not fun....:(

He could take an NCV, (Nerve Conduction Velocity), test, which might help.

Two pads on a nerve, one sends an electrical impulse, the other measures it. Just to confirm the likelihood the problem is nervous in nature. Then the appropriate modality could be assigned.

He may well have a muscle impinging on the Nerve.

That sounds about right. He went to the doctor today and got a prescription for a muscle relaxer as well as Naproxen <---I think that's how it's spelled.

I didn't get to work out today :(

As it turns out we have 1 month when prescription insurance for him is not in force - husband turns 65 this month, went on Medicare and the teachers retirement supplemental insurance that covers scripts doesn't start until 11/01 - so I did get the muscle relaxer (had to pay cash) but I didn't get the Naproxen - Ibprophen at the right mg works just as good and was much cheaper. I honestly don't know how people (especially older folks) deal with all the Medicare crap! I feel I'm a fairly intelligent individual and I find it so difficult to understand all the crap they send you about Medicare, A, B D....XYZ!!! LOL I can't imagine what my mother or mother in law would've done if they didn't have family to help?!?!? What do people do when they have no one?? My guess is they don't get benefits that they should have, resulting in less than ideal care or medical treatment.....this at the time they have less cash too, so the eat or go to the doctor comments I hear may be a reality for many - Grrrrrr!

I finally finished all the Tax Return stuff (long story!) so I'm on my way upstairs to WORKOUT!!!

Ahhhh....finally worked out! It felt great!!

First stretched :)

Squats 3 x 10, 50 lbs
Lunges 3 x 10
Incline Flyes 3 x 15, 10 lb DB's
Tricep Extension 3 x 15, 10 DB
Single Arm Rows 3 x 10, 35 lbs
Lat Pull down 3 x 10, 70 lbs.
Curls 2 x 10 x 2, 15 lb
Shoulder Press 2 x 10, 10 lb DB

Finished with stretches gain......I increased weights, still fairly low, but my upper body is feeling stronger. Funny thing is that it's obvious to me my left side is stronger than my right (I'm right handed)- I must've compensated for my rotator cuff for all those years, as I'm sure the cuff issues are a result of an injury I received after a 5 hour round robin playing tennis 30+ years ago.

I bought a set of DVD's for my spin Bike - it's a virtual 100 mile bike trip through Colorado - not a sightseeing tour, definitely a workout. I'm going to try it out tonight, first time to really use the bike. Since mu husband and I both now use the Elliptical, I felt I'd better get something else going so we can workout together.

Have a great day!
