Need to lose some weight

Postby Joseto » Mon Jul 25, 2011 5:23 pm

Hello, my name is José Tomás, i'm from chile and i've been looking on the internet for some help to know what should i do to lose a few pounds.
I'm 21 yers old, i live in Chile and this is the best site that i've seen about fitness, excersise and everything about this things so i just wanted to participate ! jeje
Now the questions:
first things to know...i can't go to a gym because i cant pay for it and i dont have the time to go....
So, i've been reading some stuff on this site an i notice that jumping a rope is a great excersise to lose weight but is it better then footing/running or riding a bycicle?
Shoud i make a mix of all of these 3 excersices and ad some abs work out?, What kind of excersises you recomend for me to do to lose weight ? any diet recomendation too?

Thanks for your answers, Joseto.

PD. if i made any mistake writing in english im sorry... i tried not to.

Forget the mistakes, your English is actually pretty darn good, so don't worry about that.

Skipping is reasonable for weight loss, but compared to the things you mentioned it isn't, as the body can't sustain the intensity and duration that things like Cycling can, so you'd burn out a lot quicker with skipping.

Diet is actually the biggest player in weight loss, so what meals do you eat and what times do you eat?

i eat 2-3 times a day, lunch and dinner always, but breakfast just some times (4-5 days a week).
for breakfast i eat cereals with yogurt or a cup of juice (not natural) and bread with eggs or cheese. (between 10.00 and 12.00 am)
at lunch just the normal things like rice, meat, eggs, potatoes, a few salads like tomatoes (between 14.00 or 15.00 pm)
mmm...and a lot of things at lunch that i dont know how to say in english :( , but i DONT eat pizza, mcdonalds or any fast food meal at lunch.
for dinner almost always the same that lunch, but smaller portions. (between 21.00 and 23.00)
I have to say that when i go out with friends at partys or bars etc, i drink alcohol, not excesive but i do it every weeks, and after those partys i sometimes go to eat at some fast food place before i go home. (at night, like 3.00 or 4.00 am)
the things that i drink at home while i eat are juice or coke, sprite, etc
Oh..i almost forgot, on sundays i always make a barbecue with my family..i'ts like a tradition
thanks !

(That MUST change immediately. For starters Breakfast EVERY day okay :), then 5 meals a day would be better)

for breakfast i eat cereals with yogurt or a cup of juice (not natural) and bread with eggs or cheese. (between 10.00 and 12.00 am)

(Try to make this 10AM without fail, so it's regimented, no loose eating patterns. I'd combine either the Cereal and Eggs, or Bread and Cheese, to make a Cheese sandwich, so there's Protein and Carbs with both options.

You could then rotate the options having them every other day so there's no repetition if you like, or however often you feel comfortable regards either, if you favour one moreso than the other.)

(12:30PM, have something like a good Portion of Peanuts, another sandwich, some Chicken and Fruit perhaps as examples.)

at lunch just the normal things like rice, meat, eggs, potatoes, a few salads like tomatoes (between 14.00 or 15.00 pm)

(This could be at 3PM without fail, again to keep a good structure)

(Another meal could be had around 5PM, you could use options like those mentioned in the 12:30PM meal)

for dinner almost always the same that lunch, but smaller portions. (between 21.00 and 23.00)

(That's fine)

I have to say that when i go out with friends at partys or bars etc, i drink alcohol, not excesive but i do it every weeks, and after those partys i sometimes go to eat at some fast food place before i go home. (at night, like 3.00 or 4.00 am)

(I'd forget the fast food and the Alcohol could be ideally cut out, but depending on how frequent and how much it might not be too bad.)

the things that i drink at home while i eat are juice or coke, sprite, etc

(I'd keep the juice, but consider limiting the other things and replacing them with Water)

Just stick mostly to compund exercises and try not to exceed 60-70 minutes per session.

If you're training the whole body per session, you'll only need 3 sessions a week every other day.

Compund exercises are movements designed to stimulate many different muscle groups at once.

So things like Deadlifts, Squats, Lunges, Chins, Cleans, Bent over Rows, Bench Press, Press-ups as examples.

Running is the best exercises because it helps you burn the calories.
Just in 30 minutes a person can easily burn 300 calories.
Walking, Sprinting and adding hills or an incline can burn 180 calories in 30 minutes.
Bicycling and Swimming of 30 minutes can burn 400 to 500 calories.

Go to the Gym.

You can do differing Cardio types, but in the case do stamina based Cardio, Skipping isn't really the one, as it does use mor explosive fast twitch muscle fibres, which contain less oxygen and energy stores, so therefore you'll burn out quicker.

Treadmill or exercise bike work for 30 minutes a time, should be ample.

Changing up your workout routine can really help you with weight loss because it keeps your body guessing about what's coming next. Something I tried if you are into supplements and things of that nature is HCG drops. I got mine here at http://www.greenhcg.com I haven't been using them but a few weeks but the pounds are coming off quicker than they were with exercise alone.

I'd suspicious of anything that says this.

Order Today And Get Our $89.95 HCG Info Pack Free!*

How can anybody afford to give something costing that much away for nothing? I've seen sites do that on the basis of "limted time only", but this site seems to be able to give it away free forever.

Also every time you post you seem to mention this system, is this a pesonal choice, or do you carry a vested interest in the system / products?

Ok guys, I'm back again with a few questions:

I started to run almost every day but just for 20 minutes...because honestly i cant make more (and i get tired very fast ...i suck at sports, xD)

I've been trying to maintain the diet that boss man recomended but it's been harder than i thought, not because im a fast food adict or i cant keep the times he recomended, is because i've benn pretty busy with my job and i have to go out with people to restaurants or stuff like that, reunions.

Is it ok to run EVERY DAY 20 minutes? ...the thing is that i have to lose weight in ONE MONTH, i have until september 18th.
What other excersise should i do?, i'm not in a gym and i have just two curls, the little ones, just for the hand, up to 24 lbs each.

Thanks for your answers, i'll go out to run in a few minutes. thanks again !!

Why do you have to lose the weight in one month.
