Tips on How to lose weight

Postby audrie01 » Sun Feb 13, 2011 10:06 pm

1. Consume foods in the natural state when possible.

2. Food programs should emphasize high protein content obtainable from a variety of meat, dairy products, eggs, cottage cheese, nuts, legumes, and yogurt.

3. When possible, use foods grown or raised without poisonous chemical sprays or food additives. Wash fruit thoroughly before eating. Enzymes from natural fruit help lose weight.

4. Steam vegetables or cook with a minimum amount of water and for as short a time as possible to minimize destruction of vitamins.
5. Eliminate or minimize the use of refined sugar such as corn syrup, dextrose, sucrose, fructose, brown sugar, 10X sugar.
6. Eliminate the use of bleached white flour products.
7. Avoid prepackaged breads, pastries, ice cream, cold or prepared cured meats.
8. Minimize fat intake and avoid trans saturated fats You’ll find these in anything that says, "hydrogenated," or "partially hydrogenated."

9. Avoid the use of carbonated soda and drinks containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea and coke. Instead, where possible consume fresh fruit juices, water and decaffeinated herbal teas.

10. During times of the year when fresh vegetables are not available, frozen vegetables are your next best choice as they are frozen with liquid nitrogen and retain much of the nutrients.

Losing weight is all about being dedicated. First you got to start changing the way you eat and the way you see food. Important step to take if your not a big breakfast eater now is the time to start. A study came out that people who skips eating breakfast tend to be obese while people who eats breakfast everyday are thinner and on the ideal weight for their height. :?

The best way to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight is through changing your eating habits and exercising regularly.

1. Choose whole grains.
2. Drink plenty of water.
3. Choose lean meats and fish.
4. Know the portion sizes for your calorie target.
5. Limit fats to an average of 15 grams per meal.
6. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible.
7. Work out for no less that 45 minutes, 4-5 days a week.
8. Select foods with less than 3 grams of fat per 100 calories.
9. Choose pretzels, baked chips, fat-free popcorn instead of fries and chips.
10. Avoid foods with partially hydrogenated oils, trans-fats and high-fructose corn syrup.
11. Choose cereal, bread, crackers or chips that contain 2 or more grams of fiber per 100 calories.
12. Choose fat-free or low-fat variety of foods especially when it comes to dairy products (milk, cheese, and yogurt).

Can't reiterate drinking lots of water enough. I lost more than 20 lbs. several years ago by switching to only water to drink. I never realized how many calories soda was packing on to your diet.

Im not sure if I agree with your statement about avoiding caffiene. Natural teas, especially green tea, are amazing for you and your motabolism. Caffiene in general will boost your motabolism a tad bit, hence the reason diet pills are filled with caffiene (Im not saying I endorse the use of fat burners). The thing I would avoid is using a crap ton of creamer in your coffee and avoid a bunch of sweeteners in your tea, coffee, etc. Drink your coffee black and your tea clean and green.

Another route would be to take caffiene pills, they are great for aiding in fat loss and getting you in the mental mind state to work out.

Caffeine is bad news my friend.

1. It blocks Iron absorption, hindering Eryythrocyte, (red blood cell), production, increasing anaemia risk and also Iron is used to create Myoglobin used to store Oxygen in your muscles and less muscle oxygen, or circulating oxygen in general, could increase Lactic Acid production when exercising.

2. It constricts bloodvessels, potentially increasing hypertension risk and reduced bloodflow to the main organs and Brain.

3. The Xanthine content is converted to Uric Acid and can contribute to Gout, as can Nitrogen in Amino Acids.

4. It can negatively interact with the Heart.

5. It can cause Stomach Ulcers and Heartburn.

People will elude to the so-called potential, for Caffeine to keep people more focused and alert, especially when exercising as well, but how much would the hormone production stimulated from the Hypothalamus actually happen, if the body was experiencing reduced bloodflow and reduced Erythrocyte levels, as the Hypothalamus would be negatively affected in terms of mood centred hormone production, if it was getting reduced oxygen delivery from less circulating oxygen that was also circulating more slowly than would be desirable.

Metabolic boosting can be achieved through exercise and muscle building as well, so Caffeine can purport benefits to the cows come home, but unless it could do something that nothing physical or dietry could, then it has no USP's, but several downsides and therefore is not to me at least, a viable substance to consume frequently, or indeed for exercise purposes.

Slow heart rate will burn more fat than a fast heart rate.

Slow it down, go for longer periods of time!

If you are just blazing though your cardio session, you are not burning fat, but muscle and carbs.

Hi there :).

I'd be interested to know your reasoning behind that, not to be skeptical, but from an inquisitive standpoint, as to me anyway faster burns more, just like cars use more fuel when going faster.

Some people say sprints can be anabolic, whilst slow cardio is catabolic, however I'd be interested to get your reasoning regarding what you said :).

Make sure your product has a decent amount of protein and Carbs and don't fiddle about with all these silly little 90 calorie things. If you need a decent amount of Calories per day ot help you maintain a good metabolism and energise you for activity, those are not the answer and will potentially create an undereating scenario, or worse you compensate with too many calories in the next meal, or just get feelings of hunger for 1-2 hours before some meals.
