yeah, maybe try going slower, or even like you said, just doing a slow jog. Do you have inserts in your shoes, for added cush? Sometimes that really helps too. I have to have them in my running shoes.

I think your right Jocelyn. When i was walking the other day, i started walking faster mainly to get away from these ladies that were chatting. Their chatter was bugging me. And my shins started burning but as soon as i slowed down it went away. And i also when i walk use more of my heel first. I never have shin pain usually walking because i never walk fast. Hopefully that's what it is!

I have tried inserts and I can't stand them. They just feel really off to me and I can never get them to fit just right. I guess trimming inserts ins't my forte :|

No workout last night. I either had a touch of the flu or I ate something bad. I spent most of the afternoon at work in the bathroom, then last night I was basically camped out in close proximity to the bathroom  I feel fine today, though, so I am guessing it was just something I ate.

Tonight's workout:

Lower body machines

35 minutes on elliptical (level 10, random hills). This machine wasn't broken and boy did I get a workout  I felt great walking out :D

I was leaning over a machine to adjust the settings and suddenly I felt someone grab my tush  I turned a little shocked and there was a guy standing behind me completely mortified   He was talking to someone and was reaching for the handles on his machine and instead grabbed me  I was laughing so he relaxed and laughed as well. I must say I felt sorry for the guy because it was definitely an accident, but his wife/girlfriend gave him the look of death and they bickered for awhile  I wanted to tell her to lighten up but I thought I better just stay out of it!

I am getting frustrated. I have been working out really well for three weeks and I have only lost .8 pounds  It makes me wonder if it is even worth it sometimes :( I feel like I put in so much work and get nothing in return.

OK, so enough of the pity party, I just had to vent. I do know that it is worth it in the long run. I also know that my diet hasn't been spot on, but it has been good enough that I should be seeing results already. But I guess I am just going to let the frustration motivate me to work harder!

I was kind of feeling the same way today. 1.8 is nice but i have a lot of weight to lose and it didn't feel like enough i was hoping for more. :(

It is SO SO easy to put this weight on. At least for me it is really easy that it's frustrating as can be in how hard it can be to lose it!!!

It will come off though for all of us we just got to stick with it! :D

Hey there stranger, nice to see you around :D I have to say my biggest weakness lately has been caffeine. I have been so ridiculously tired in the afternoons that I end up getting a Mountain Dew. So I think that has been how I have been sabotaging myself. And I can't stand diet soda (and it scares me anyway!).

i know it is frustrating, but don't give up! Keep analyzing your diet and tweaking your workouts, you will get there!!!

you probably don't want to know this...but a 12 oz. MD has 46 grams of sugar in it - thats over 10 teaspoons of sugar... def. a roadblock in the ole weight loss en devour!
I think the hardest thing I have done these last few months was give up diet coke - sometimes I have a craving for it so bad...but I just try to get past it - and get a bottle of water.

Hang in there Joc!! You are making great progress! :D

I know, isn't that ridiculous! I don't know why I have been so tired, though. Some days I can barely even keep my eyes open in the afternoon :|

I don't plan on giving up, I was just venting :D It's just so frustrating to work so hard, and something so stupid as a can of soda can have that big of an effect - grrrrrr

Don't forget you had shin splints and basically binned the Cardio for a week, so yes that almost certainly would have had some bearing on weight loss results.

Good point, I hadn't really thought of that. Guess I will be hitting cardio big time next week :D

No workouts this weekend. I was out of town. We went to the Milwaukee Brewers game yesterday afternoon - it was miserable (but at least they won!). The heat index was well over 100 degrees and we were sitting in direct sun the entire time (we tailgated before and after so I was in direct sun from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm). I think we could have wrung ourselves out in the end from the heat and humidity. By the end I was suffering from heat exhaustion - I got really sick on the drive home, not to mention I got a sunburn on my chest (the only spot I forgot to put sunscreen :x ). We did a lot of walking so between that and the heat, I am exhausted. I feel much better, but yesterday I couldn't drink water fast enough to keep up with the heat.

My shins are sore, no doubt from all of the walking yesterday. So tonight I will have to stay off of the treadmill. I will hopefully do my upper body workout and then the elliptical.
