L Glutamine Supplements - Build Lean
Muscle Mass
L-Glutamine has long been thought to help rebuild connective and muscle
tissue stimulated by weight training minute tears but studies are showing that
this supplement has other positive affects on endurance athletes. The actual muscle
growth, muscle saving studies are not doing as well as the studies related to
immunity and use of Glutamine. I personally enjoy using this item and feel
it does decrease my incidence in muscle and joint 'cricks n creaks' of course
not directly but through its avenues at a cellular level. Trickle down effect
so to speak. I like to take 5 grams at least per day if not per shake. Or course
due to the unproven suspicion of protein synthesis in the body I prefer to take
it alone an hour outside of any other protein but when in a rush, in the shake
it goes! I think individuals with compromised immunity such as mine, having lung
disease, will actually benefit me in less direct way but still end up making my
fitness goals better realized. I also feel that if I were not a competitive
athlete I would still incorporate Glutamine into my healthy diet, not only because
I am mainly vegetarian but also because I feel it to be a great addition to any
diet especially if you are extra health conscious. Athletes have to take
themselves to levels beyond the average exerciser in their training and practice
causing them to suffer injuries plus health effects. Immunity is affected by those
who train excessively which is one of the demands in competitive sport, recreational
or not. Many athletes have decreased immunity and end up sick during days of long
bouts exercising at intense levels. Supplementing with Glutamine has show to help
against these negative, intense exercise side effects. Being strong from virus,
cold or flu will help you keep consistent in training so in turn still improving
your fitness. There have also been studies of this supplement used with
patients undergoing surgeries, bone marrow transplants, and cancer patients. These
studies research the effect of glutamine during stages and scenarios showing it
usually positively affecting the immunity during the situation. The fact
that these studies are occurring shows there is scientific interest which only
would be sparked by some belief that Glutamine does in fact have positive effect
on the body. These studies focused on immunity but are excellent breakthroughs
toward more answers in the muscle building circle. This is good news for bodybuilders
but may take a bit longer since priority is in first proving it helps patients,
then the supplement becomes justified with other studies to follow. Although muscle
effect by Glutamine has had studies in fewer numbers, they do exist. It
seems that the cells of the immune system use glutamine at high rate which can
be beneficial to many diseases according to the theory and studies. There are
the animal studies but many are human studies which make the results better reliable. There
were however some studies showing no change in muscle performance or make up during
or after exercise. Even if this is true, the immunity studies alone still show
there is a round about positive effect with L-Glutamine supplementation.
