Muscle Building Questions - Training For
Six Pack Abs
Question: Two questions... I was told that I should do Abdominal exercises
everyday in order to get the six pack (400 reps, any combination). I was also
told that I should do legs twice a week. What do you think? How often do you think
that I should do cardio training and on which days, with which muscle groups
Answer: Abdominals are like any other muscle group and they need at least
24-48 hours of rest to recuperate and grow. I would train them every other day
and make sure to always allow enough recovery time. In terms of legs, I agree
with the twice a week regimen. I recommend giving your legs 72 hours of rest since
they are a very large muscle group and need more recovery time. Cardio work should
be done on separate days from weight training. Focus on weights one day and cardio
work the next.
