Pooza's Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
One day at a Super Bowl game party at my neighbors home, I was
sitting on a couch and there was some space for another person
to sit. A lady came in and said she might not fit in the remaining
space. She was very skinny.
What made you decide to lose weight?
That day was a complete humiliation for me. I decided at that
moment to lose my extra weight and show to her what can I become.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I changed my food intake behavior. I used to eat a lot of junk
snacks like cookies. I stopped eating those, avoided soda and
started eating fruit and nonfat snacks. I also started to go to
the gym regularly where I would do 30 minutes of exercise on the
elliptical trainer machine.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Motivation is such a great thing. Trying to stick to a regular
healthy diet and exercise plan.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I bought a weight scale to keep track of my weight. I started
to see results after two weeks. I had already lost 2 pounds by
then.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
I took me 6 months.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do
it?
I am in my first year of weight loss. Now I like healthy food
and I go to the gym at least 3 times a week. I rarely drink soda
or eat unhealthy snacks now.
How has your life changed now that you've lost weight?
It has changed my life a lot. Everyone who used to tease me for
my fat body, now praises me. My husband feels so happy when some
one praises me and seeing him happy makes me feel happy.

is a great exercise to burn extra calories.

Fat free yogurt, popcorn without butter, whole wheat biscuits.
