When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I began gaining
weight and was unhappy about it for the next twenty years, until I began losing
weight!
What made you decide to lose weight?
I looked under
every rock for a way to still eat what I wanted and lose weight. There was none.
I faced the reality that I had to change what I was eating.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Counting calories/eating less
What
was most challenging about losing weight?
Saying
"no" to excuses. I still have a hard time talking myself out of the
bad choices.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I
began seeing a dietitian and making that commitment forced me to change my behavior.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
I lost about 40 pounds the first year, the rest have been in very small, slow
but manageable increments over the next 2 years.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I've been at this weight for a year. It's still an everyday struggle but absolutely
worth it.
How has your life changed now that you've lost weight?
I just ran my 2nd marathon, both were the happiest days of my life. People
constantly tell me that I inspire them and that I helped them lose weight. I love
the way I look and feel better at 38 than I did at 18.

Breakfast:
Egg whites/2 oz cheese w/turkey bacon or turkey
pepperoni.
Lunch:
Salad OR Subway turkey breast hero.
Dinner:
4 oz pasta OR chicken breast w/steamed veggies.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
Peppermint Patty (160 cals) Whole
Wheat English Muffin w/light butter/jelly celery sticks w/dip: reduced fat sour
cream + salsa.
