weight loss success stories When did you become unhappy with your weight?

When I was like 11 years old. I continued to struggle throughout high school until summer after senior year.

weight loss success stories What made you decide to lose weight?

I wanted to be able to live a normal lifestyle, buy clothes anywhere and fit into my car. All the stuff people take for granted.

weight loss success stories What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?

EXERCISE! I dieted a lot also but mainly I am way more active now. I work almost 60 hours a week and workout 5 days a week.

weight loss success stories What was most challenging about losing weight?

Its all mental. You have to brainwash yourself that you don't need the food. You have had it before and believe you can do anything. Take small steps at first. I remember when I could barely ride my bike a couple miles. Now, I can walk like 11.5 miles straight.

weight loss success stories How long did it take you to start to see results?

First week I lost 8 pounds. Then it started adding up: 8 pounds, then 13 pounds, then 18 pounds, then 24 pounds and so on. I finally believed it was time.

About a year and a half from June 2008 to October 2009.

weight loss success stories How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?

Almost two years. I'm really active and don't allow myself to get bored. I try not to eat when I'm not hungry and I just stay active.

weight loss success stories How has your life changed now that you've lost weight?

I have confidence. Unfortunately, like a lot of people fear, I do have loose skin and need surgery. It shouldn't scare you away because every day I wake up to have 180 pounds off me and it's an incredible feeling. I can do so many things like fit into my car better, fit on a plane and go to a clothes store to buy a shirt I like without worrying if it comes in 3XL. I can also wear jeans that fit because I can use belts now.
