Thomasena’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I became unhappy with my weight when a friend said to me that I must weigh 200 pounds. I didn’t believe him and got really mad. Turns out he was right.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I didn’t. My cousin called me one Saturday afternoon while I was sleeping and said we are going to the gym. I hung up on her, she called back. Long story short, she won.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Physical activity, lots of water and working out 5 days a week. Just getting my body moving.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Staying focused when the scale didn’t budge and learning to be confident at the gym when other girls would just watch me. Intimidating.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I lost 10 pounds every month because I was so big. But I’d say that I started to see my body physically change after 40 pounds lost.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
1 1/2 years and counting.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I’m still working out currently and would like to get my weight down lower but as far as maintaining goes I just workout 5 times a week and watch what I eat.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I can run longer distances, I have more energy, my relationship with my friends and family has improved and I am able to keep up with my fiancé at the gym.
How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
I love reading ShapeFit’s weight loss success stories for the women. I’m always waiting for there to be new ones posted. I have also done some nutritional reading on ShapeFit as well. It’s an excellent learning tool. ShapeFit.com has kept me motivated, through the good times and the bad times. I will always use the ShapeFit website as a resource to reach my health goals!

Eat natural foods, unprocessed.

Always set new goals at the gym, it will keep your workouts interesting and your metabolism high.
Thomasena’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Oatmeal, with cinnamon, raisins, prunes, skim milk. Half a banana.
Whole wheat bread sandwich, roasted turkey lunch meat, cheese, hummus, with grapes, 250 ml of milk.
Chicken, lentils and rice, or a chicken salad with eggs.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
Bananas, almonds, walnuts, yogurt, dark chocolate.
