Sarah’s Weight Loss Interview!

How much did you lose?
I lost 135 pounds and 8 pants sizes!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I gained weight as an adult during and after my first pregnancy.

What made you decide to lose weight?
I saw pictures of myself and could not believe what I looked like. I wanted to feel better physically and mentally and teach my kids a healthy lifestyle.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Moving my body and slowly changing my eating habits.

What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
Learning how to use food as fuel for my body instead of an emotional crutch.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
I started seeing results in about 2-4 weeks.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took 6 years to reach my current weight.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
I’m still losing and have about 15 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight. The key was making a healthy lifestyle change a priority in my life by eating healthy and exercising (running and strength training). I know now that when I make a healthy lifestyle a priority I feel so much better physically and mentally.

What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
Being there for my kids and teaching them a healthy way of life.

Yes, don’t give up! Every little step is a step forward to your goal.

Sarah’s Weight Loss Tips!

Weight Loss Tip #1:
sarah-f-weight-loss-story-6Move your body every day. Even if you can’t do much, do what you can and do a little more each time.

Weight Loss Tip #2:
Eat protein!

Weight Loss Tip #3:
Plan out your meals ahead of time. Know what you are going to eat before the hunger hits.

Weight Loss Tip #4:
Buy fresh fruits and veggies and then cut them up and put them in Tupperware as soon as you get home from the grocery store so they are on hand and ready to eat.

Weight Loss Tip #5:
If you “mess up” (and I did a lot), just get back on track. I had so many times where I would overeat and end up going right back to my old eating habits. It’s not worth it to have to re-lose the same weight you already lost. Don’t give up and just get right back on track.

  1. Sarah did you track your calories with the counter? Wondering what you did at plateaus and what worked for you. You are at my “first” goal weight. I would like to hit 175 and I am the same height as you! You look great. I’ve lost 37 and need to get the rest off. I’m not sure if I am eating enough. According to my app it says 1490 but I look on here and it says I should have 1800. I’m thinking of trying the zig/zag. Any help? Great job!
