Tabatha’s Weight Loss Interview!
How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
I lost 85 pounds and went from a size 14 to a size 8!
When did you become unhappy with your weight (were you overweight as a child or did you gain weight as an adult)?
I was fit before my pregnancy, but I gained 70 pounds during my pregnancy. That was definitely not a wise thing to do!
What made you decide to lose weight?
One day I was out running errands with my husband and I passed out and had to be rushed to the hospital via ambulance. I was suffering from sleep deprivation, exhaustion and dehydration. That was my wake up call to change my life! My daughter was two months old at the time.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
The most important changes that helped me lose the weight were monitoring my caloric intake, eating five small meals a day (spaced every three hours), and exercising several days a week from the convenience of my home.
What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
Getting frustrated when I thought the weight would never come off was very challenging for me to deal with!
How long did it take you to start to see results?
About a month into my program, I slowly started seeing a difference in my body and how my clothes fit.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took me 11 months to reach my current weight.
Did you have any issues with loose skin after losing the weight? If so, how did you deal with it (surgery, etc)?
Fortunately, I have not had any issues with loose skin after losing the weight.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
I have maintained my weight loss for 5 years! I do it by exercising regularly, watching what I eat (I am now a vegan), and I still have my size 14 pants as a reminder of how far I’ve come with my weight loss journey!
What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
I want to be a great example for my daughter and all the other women that struggle with post-pregnancy weight issues along with everyone else who is struggling with their weight.
How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
I have booked print ads as a model and I auditioned for a talk show host position and got the job! I also have a popular vegan blog.
Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
My advice to others is to write out a plan and stick to it, surround yourself with positive and supportive people, and never give up!

Weight Loss Tip #1:
Keep a food journal! This was a huge help for me because I was able to see exactly what I was eating and count my overall calories. It also helped me make better food decisions during the day.

Make sure you exercise regularly (3-4 times per week).

Get plenty of sleep! You need sleep to rest and recover from your workouts.

Drink water! Water helps to flush out your system and keeps you full.

What do you normally eat for breakfast?
For breakfast, I usually have a tofu scramble and some fruit.
What do you normally eat for lunch?
I like to have a spinach wrap with fresh veggies for lunch.
What do you normally eat for dinner?
Steamed veggies and a salad is perfect for dinner.
What do you normally eat for snacks?
I love to snack on hummus and pita chips along with fresh fruit and trail mix.
What type of nutritional supplements do you take?
For nutritional supplements, I take BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), plant-based protein shakes and vitamin B-12.

What do you do for weight training (exercises, workouts)?
I enjoy weight training multiple times a week with several different exercises that target my whole body.
What do you do for cardio training (exercises, workouts)?
I like doing interval training for cardio and use the elliptical machine and treadmill.
