Kurt
was drafted and signed in the 1993 Major League Baseball Draft as
a third baseman in the 6th round (4th pick) by the New York Yankees.
He played a total of 10 seasons in the minor-leagues, earning All-Star
honors several times at various levels (A, AA, AAA) and at multiple
positions (first base and outfield). Kurt earned Rookie-of-the-Year
honors in the International League at the Triple-A (AAA) level with
the Columbus Clippers in 1999. Kurt is also Vice President of ShapeFit
where his knowledge and experience as a professional athlete has

- Graduated Glencoe HS (Hillsboro, OR) in 1990. All-State shortstop
in baseball and All-State quarterback in football
- Signed an NCAA Letter-of-Intent to play college football at
Portland State University in the winter of 1989
- Drafted in the 1990 Major League Baseball Draft as a third baseman
in the 26th round by the Chicago Cubs (did not sign and elected
to attend Modesto Junior College in order to get out of the Letter-of-Intent
to play football at PSU without having to forfeit one year of
eligibility)

an All-Conference third baseman at Modesto Junior College
- Drafted again in the 1991 Major League Baseball Draft as a third
baseman in the 48th round by the Atlanta Braves (did not sign)
- Received a full baseball scholarship to the University of Southern
California
- Drafted again and signed in the 1993 Major League Baseball Draft
as a third baseman in the 6th round (4th pick) by the New York
Yankees
- Played a total of 10 seasons in the minor-leagues, earning All-Star
honors several times at various levels (A, AA, AAA) and at multiple
positions (first base and outfield).
- Played from 1993 - 1999 in the NY Yankees farm system. This
stretch with the Yankees was highlighted by earning Rookie-of-the-Year
honors in the International League at the Triple-A (AAA) level
with the Columbus Clippers in 1999. While winning this award,
Kurt led the team in RBI (95), was second in home runs (23) and
set the Columbus all-time single season record for doubles (42).
- Signed as a free-agent in 2000 with the Milwaukee Brewers and
led the Triple-A (AAA) Indianapolis Indians in home runs (19)
and RBI (72). This team went on to win the Triple-A (AAA) World
Series Championship.
- Signed as a free-agent in 2001 with the Detroit Tigers and hit
16 home runs for the year, after missing over a month of playing
time due to injury.
- Signed as a free-agent in 2002 with the NY York Yankees and
returned to Columbus (AAA)
- Finished the 2002 season with the Texas Rangers organization
with their Triple-A (AAA) Oklahoma City Red Hawks
- Retired from professional baseball following the 2002 season
to focus on other business ventures, including the development
