Including whole grains in the nutritional portion of your weight loss plan is very beneficial for many reasons. Whole grains have been shown to help reduce the risks of hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and even some heart diseases. Eating whole grains on a consistent basis will help keep your body strong and resistant to the diseases listed above. Some good examples of whole grains are whole wheat breads, pastas and oatmeal. In addition to the benefits listed above, whole grain foods also give you added and much needed energy throughout the day. This extra energy can always come in handy, particularly if you are raising a family and sticking to your workout routine!
