I heard an interesting comment on the news the other day. The report was on the number of overweight children in this country. The reporter pointed out that part of the problem is that there are currently so many children who are overweight, that it is hard to tell what is normal. We can carry that one step further and see that the same is true for us adults, as well. Our ego, or body based intellect, is always in the process of comparing ourselves to others around us and it’s a very normal thing for us to do as…

Physicist Albert Einstein once remarked “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is.” Without a doubt Albert Einstein was one of the most insightful scientists of the twentieth century. His Theory of Relativity expanded our perception of the universe. The concept of all things being relative with respect to the observer (each of us) parallels our ego-based point of view toward our perceptions of ‘all there is’. In other words, we perceive and experience everything from our individual point of reference, or point of…

For example, an Olympic athlete is generally considered to have a high level of fitness, while a sedentary individual is considered to have a low level. Most of us fall somewhere in between. Most of our concerns revolve around the body and its ability to operate properly and appropriately. We generally look at our…

Many of us are actively working toward a happier, healthier and more fit lifestyle; but sometimes it’s hard to see the changes that have occurred. “Nothing is happening”, you may say to yourself. But, that’s not true. Changes ARE occurring. In fact, changes are occurring all the time. However, the speed with which changes occur in our body, is determined by our genetic make up, not by our human based wants and desires. We live in a time when instant gratification is offered to us around every corner. All one needs to do is look at the advertisements promoting ‘rapid’…

At one time or another we surely must have heard the saying that states “You can’t fool Mother Nature.” There is a lot of truth in that statement, especially when seeking to achieve a happy, healthy and fit lifestyle. As human beings, we perceive ‘all there is’ around us in terms of concrete, abstract and ethereal thought. Our five senses are genetically inscribed within each of us. This is how we get along in the physical world. Naturally, many of our experiences in life focus on the physical being, that is our body. It is our life-long vehicle, our home,…
