Where does "oat bran" fit?

I saw some "Oat Bran Hot Cereal" and thought I would try it. But I'm not sure where it fits in the steel cut vs. rolled vs. quick. Is it made from a different part of the kernel, and what are the nutritional values if anyone knows?

Thanks!

Honestly, if I have to, I take a "bathroom break" and scarf down some food in there. Your boss can't really argue about taking a bathroom break. It's disappointing I don't always get to enjoy the food leisurely, but at least body is getting the nutrients it needs... I used to work in an em...

Body Fat Percentage vs. "Being Healthy"

I went to get body fat percentage checked out of curiosity, since I haven't had it done since high school and the dreaded calipers. Anyway, it was lower than I anticipated (which was weird because there is still fat I want to get rid of), and the "fitness trainer" on campus wanted to have ...

I've seen people doing cables with the "V-bar" - is that the narrow grip you mention? Also, I've see this bar in the shape of a "U" that people use for cable rows (http://www.inspirefitnesssolutions.co.uk/images/primary_extra_large_img/86~close-grip-low-row-and-pulldown-handle.jp...

Thanks for all the tips and advice. I am realizing it is much better for me and stomach to have the occassional "cheat" with the family (say dessert at night) for the week, then to have one whole binge day and say "I give up today". Ugh- the pain and discomfort after realizing I ...

doctor prescribed a ferrous sulfate pill for me to take. I am suprised they didn't tell you either how much or specifically what to take- or give you a prescription. I would definitely contact them back regarding that. I was also told to space out the multi-vitamin and iron pill, as your body can o...

Vacation and Eating worries- how do you handle it?

I am going on two vacations this summer, both with family- one is for almost two weeks to brother's, and one is a week long family "rent a lake house" vacation. I am totally scared I am going to fall back into old eating habits. It's only been six months since I've really focused on exerci...

I think it'll be awhile before I get much higher though - mostly due to grip issues on the bar  I had this same problem with grip. I'm not sure how other people feel about them, but I use the weight lifting hooks to help me with grip for deadlifts. I could lift the weight, but hands were givi...

Regarding the difference between going to floor versus mid-shin- would you put the bar all the way onto the floor and then lift back up? I have been doing mid-shin, and was wondering what changing to floor would do? I thought you are supposed to look straight ahead or up, so if going to floor you ha...

slightly confused about post work out food...

Is there a difference between "Post Work Out" (like a shake) and a "Post Work Out Meal"? I thought I've seen them used to mean different things, but it could be I just don't understand the lingo or abbreviations. If there is a difference, I get that PWO shake would be taken right...

I just went through the cereal aisle today at the store, and they have those mini wheats but unfrosted. I think there was only 1g of sugar per serving (same size serving, 50-something mini-wheats). So if you like that cereal, it might be good to check out the "unfrosted" flavor if you want...

Awesome! I had a great time! I ate two egg whites, some veggies, and a cup of coffee at 6am, had some granola about 9am, and was too excited to eat anymore. There were 350 registered for the race. I started and kept a good pace, but I didn't want to overextend myself and poop out (running up and dow...

Problem with cardio rower machine?

Hi, Does anyone else hurt/rub their tailbone when they do the rower? I don't know if I'm sitting too forward in the seat, so I try now to sit a little further back, but should butt hang off the back? I read it was a good exercise, and sometimes left hip gets a little sore and the rower doesn't seem ...

first 5K- suggestions to eat before?

Hello! I am running first Official Race- a 5K this Saturday (for those in the IL/IN area- http://www.junglerun5k.com/ at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center). I usually just sleep walk out the door in the mornings and get cardio done before breakfast. However, I'm going to be up for a few hours before t...
