Re: Very quick question...
For stuff like crunches, etc, where I only used body weight, I would just enter 1. What that meant was obvious to me since I don't have any 1-pound weights.

Re: Eating "clean"
I swear, every time I have a craving for food out, I check out the nutrition info on the Web, and then I really don't want to eat out anymore...sheesh... I love to eat out, but I don't like to be surprised at the last minute since it doesn't allow me time to plan meal. I've gone into a restaurant b...

Re: Calories Burned vs. Calories Consumed ISSUE???
Basal Metabolic Rate is the number of calories that your body consumes throughout a day, without any additional exercise. I think it is based on your fitness level and current weight. It adds the calories that you burned doing cardio to the BMR to calculate the total calories burned for the day, the...

Re: Copy and Paste feature
Hi, I work with the same machine and weights for 4 weeks. In account I put in the machine and the sets I do. Now instead of typing all that info again next day, is there a way to copy and paste that info? Thanks Munish The easiest way is to highlight the portion you want to copy, then hit 'cnrl + c...

Re: Copy and Paste feature
I think your best bet might be to create a custom workout. It is a pain to set up initially, but it's great when you have it done: you just add the custom routine, then enter your load/reps. Very easy!

Algebra: If I am "X" and I am 61 years old, and a 57 to 60 year old woman would be an appropriate mate, then: X = 3Y, where "Y" equals a 19 year old coed or X = 2Z, where "Z" equals a young woman aged 29. From these algebraic equations I learn that it is entirely appro...

Re: Confessions: Things you won't tell your mother.
A few times when I wanted to wear a favorite shirt and it hadn't been washed yet, I put it in the dryer for a few minutes with a scented dryer sheet. Spruces it right up! (I've done this for husbands shirts too, but don't tell him!) This process has doubled as "ironing board" too!...

Re: Where are chest muscles?
Thanks for all the feedback, guys! I think I'm finally starting to understand that advice. It just needs to be expanded a little bit to include 'if you are in any condition to be lifting weights...'

Re: Where are chest muscles?
But the original point of the post (that I made) still has not been addressed: people who are unable to do a single push-up. Are you advocating that it is better for a 400 pound man who is morbidly obese to do 3 sets of 1/2 of a push-up instead of putting weight on a bar, or hopping on a machine, an...

Re: Where are chest muscles?
well if you did 3 sets for bench presses where tyou used less muscles thus burning less calories and/or building less muscle overall, and i can only assume you did 10 reps per set for 30 total reps then why not simply do 6 sets of 5 reps of pusdh ups for the same volume? what's the difference? The ...

Re: Where are chest muscles?
Oh and if you can't do 3 sets of 20 PROPER push-ups(watch a video on you-tube), work on that first before using the weights. I have a small gripe about this advice. I've seen similar advice here, before and it bugs me a bit. People who say that someone has no business doing bench press if they can'...

MLB Diet changes
I found this article which I found interesting about the US Major League Baseball team San Fransisco Giants. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113313511&ft=1&f=1001 I applaud the Giants management on this decision to hire a chef to prepare healthier options. It sets a good...

Re: Cassie's Figure Competition Journal
CASSIE!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT. I read... somewhere (most likely on the forums) that you are cutting all veggies except asparagus from your diet in the very near future, if you have not already done so. Now, we all know that it makes your pee smell funny. I learned this from watching the movie elf, an...

Re: Biggest loser Controvery
problem with the show is this paradox. Fat people are sitting in front of the TV watching fat people exercise. Think about that one. I used to think (and do) that very same thing. Now, however, I'm in the basement working out when Biggest Loser comes on. I've got the wonderful folks at these forums...
