Re: Am I considered light or medium active?
Can't swim worth a lick, but you are right, it is a total body workout. Plus we have no pool (public) anywhere near me that I know of, but thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Am I considered light or medium active?
Oh yeah, both doc. and I are in agreement that to do nothing would only make it worse, allowing it to stiffen and not be able to take the ever day wear and tear. I am of the belief that the worse thing you can do to an injury is baby it; I was walking on leg the day after surgery with no pain meds (...

Re: Thinking of dividing single workout into two
I think I just got impatient. knee couldn't handle the two walks plus it meant doubling the narcotics I have to take which I didn't want to do. Anyway, things are back on track just slower as I am near goals now (166lbs, target 165, 84cm waist, target 81cm) with results showing up after 2-3 weeks wh...

Thinking of dividing single workout into two
I normally walk about 60 minutes at 4.5mph each day. fat loss has plateaued the last two weeks so I was thinking of confusing body by dividing 60 minute walk into a morning and evening 30-40minute walk. Do you think this would work to kick start the fat burning again

Just noticed this, Thanks!
Yeah, the knee is a real bummer and now right is going too
but I am not going to let them stop me; I just can't sit on the couch and become a lump, I refuse too.
Thanks once again.

Re: iron cross
I found behind the neck raises did inflame rotator cuff, but I injured them early on going to heavy too quickly (don't we all). As for the iron T, I had never heard of that one before and it isn't even in Arnold Schwarzenegger encyclopedia of modern body building (this book put me on the correct pat...

Re: Is "clean" eating really necessary?
friend on the protein diet was a type 2 diabetic, big on him. He has now lost about 40 pounds in three months, but I have a couple of fears; 1. that he is trading diabetes for heart disease and clogged arteries, and 2. that once he returns to normal/modified normal diet with carbs and such that the...

Re: Is "clean" eating really necessary?
I agree, I have just discovered Jasmine rice, it is quite good. I have been doing a lot of reading since joining and I must say there does seem to be a lot of extremes out there. One fellow advocates no carbs after supper, while another states no carbs for breakfast. I believe that doing anything ex...

Re: Need to loose the fat!
Just like losing weight takes time, it will take time for the skin to shrink (if it does). Don't look at it as a negative but as a positive; flaunt it and say to everyone "hey man, look at baggy skin that use to be full of blubber but is now empty...SWEET!". Don't let it beat you, you are ...

Re: Need to loose the fat!
Most likely it is lose skin and not fat at all. It may shrink or (hope not) you may need surgery to remove the excess skin. Just thoughts of course.

Re: Hi all, forum Newbie - in need of some encouragement please?
Howdy! I think you have to do a couple of things first (at least these worked for me). 1. Really take a look at yourself, objectively without being cruel. Decide what you really want to accomplish. In case when I started working out I was 5'7", 120 lbs and all the guys in tank unit called me st...

Re: Questions about muscle growth.
I have the same problem, in order to have jeans that fit waste I have to get loose fit; regular fit jeans are far too tight around upper legs all due to muscle from weights and fast long walks. Thus I end up with "baggy bum" as wife calls it, but what else can one do?
