Treadmill decision

I am looking to get a new treadmill for the coming cold months since I don't want to be doing runs outdoors anymore but am having a hard time deciding on which one to go with. I had a NordicTrack treadmill and have really loved it, but it was a hand me down and am in need of an upgrade! I thought I ...

Re: Running Or Cycling?

Great response Boss Man! Very informative!!! I would suggest if you are looking to tone up to be sure to include a strength training exercises into your exercise regimen, at least 3 days a week! Doing squats, lunges, and plyometric exercises will help you to tone up your legs! If you are worried abo...

Re: Outdoor Running in Winter

Congrats on getting started running, it's quite addicting right?! ha I agree with fitoverfourty as I prefer outdoor running as well, but there are days when I just cannot take the cold or when it is snowing and I prefer not to risk health running in a blizzard! I invested in a treadmill about two ye...

Re: Elliptical & Treadmill

Cardio is extremely beneficial to any fitness regimen no matter what your goal may be, but what is just as equally important is strength training! Even if your goal is weight loss, not any muscle building, by incorporating strength training moves and adding muscle you are going to burn more calories...

Re: Best cardio exercise

For weight loss personal favorite cardio exercise is High Intensity Interval Training as I feel it burns a high percentage of fat and calories in a fairly quick amount of time! Also if you are running on the treadmill, I'd recommend running on an incline! I recently read that jogging on an incline r...

Re: PERSONAL TRAINER OR P90X?

I agree personal trainers can be quite expensive, yet sometimes if you start out at a new gym or your current one they'll let you have one or two free sessions. I think this alone could be enough to show you what you need to do to target the areas you are looking for. I don't do the scheduled P90X p...

Re: Are there wide variations in Heart Rates?

While heart rate monitors are very effective for workouts helping you to stay within your range, they are not always needed. I actually just read a great article on the subject just the other day http://www.nordictrackcoupons.com/blog/should-i-use-a-heart-rate-monitor/" onclick="window.ope...

I'm gonna have to go with the NordicTrack one as well! I really love their products, I've had great success with them so far! I too have the iFit, love having a little trainer right in your machine! And with the google maps, you never get bored running different "trails"! :) If you are loo...

Sorry BossMan hope you don't mine me cutting in here, just curious? What after workout protein powders would you recommend? Re: Workout in the A.M. or P.M.

I like doing it in the mornings and just get it over with for the day! If I wait till later sometimes things will come up and can get in the way of workout time. Also it makes me more self conscious of what I am eating throughout the day when I've had a good workout in the morning. Gives me motivati...

Re: I want to open a gym/fitness center. Buy one or build one?

I agree, both might be risky! Especially given our economic times now. Personal opinion I would say build a new one though, if one is for sell most likely because it was not working out, sometimes the owner may just not be very good though. But it's hard to take over a business that is failing. I th...
