Re: Having trouble losing weight

Those lipid production pathways that you are talking about are the pathways that are targeted by all of the weight loss drugs you see. The reason some people will think that one is the greatest thing ever, and the next guy will get no results from the same one, is that there are so many different ne...

Re: Basic Workout Plan for Boot Camp

I can tell you about experience from doing infantry basic in the army that instead of focusing on the pt test numbers you should actually train for basic. If you are in good shape you will have the numbers, and you will be less likely to develop an injury from all of the physically exhausting stuff ...

Re: Workout Program

Sounds like you could use a healthy dose of metabolic resistance training. You can get started with designing your own workouts with blog: http://zenphitness.blogspot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I will be posting some more on MRT later this week. http://www.zenphitn...

Re: Need Advice*

You can definitely do both, just make sure that you keep eating healthy, and rest plenty. If you are strapped for time I would recommend doing some MRT (metabolic resistance training). It only takes 30-45 minutes per workout, and gets great results. http://zenphitness.blogspot.com/" onclick=&qu...

Re: Having trouble losing weight

Boss man definitely knows what's what, a dietitian friend of mine recently told me a few things on this very topic as well: basically, there are neurotransmitter and hormonal pathways that send signals to the body to activate fat cells into energy, when you have a lot of fat cells those neurotransmi...

Re: LOOKING FOR TOTAL GUIDANCE

Anytime anyone asks me for fitness advice, the first thing I tell them is that nobody knows you better than you do. I just put up an article today about a way you can work out, and if you use the paradigm, you can generate a few good workouts in about 10-15 minutes and have a comprehensive physical ...

Re: Supplements good or bad

There are a TON of supplements out there, and it is important to do your research. There are a lot of them that if you do not have some kind of biology or biochemistry degree are very difficult to decipher and figure out if they are a waste of time and money or not. Also, everyone has different body...

Re: What is average for a newbie?

Sounds like you are off to a totally awesome start! Keep up the good work/play. Every time I talk to someone who has any kind of fitness goal at all I have to bring up one thing that I think is the key to weight loss, strength gain, etc. and that is the concept of hormone control. The principle is t...

Re: Fat loss - Cardio vs Weights

I have to say, I admire your dedication to getting six pack abs! I am working on that myself and it is a little bit of a struggle, but I can share with you what I have learned in the process so far (a little human laziness can keep me from getting there, even if I know how, right?): A couple of simp...

Re: Stability ball exercise abs and core video

Love these exercises! I used to hate them, but they are some of the best things you can do, especially if you have back problems like I do. I used to be a heavy lifter, but since I hurt back all of work outs are core-centric, and I have never been in better shape in life. I am actually running first...

Re: What sports would you consider to be safe and dangerous?

All sports are dangerous, or all sports are safe. It depends on your outlook or perceptional premise. Any way you differentiate between sports or any activity for that matter, could be taken to its extreme which would be that either all activity, all of which could result in injury or death, is dang...

Re: What food/drink keeps you full for the majority of the day?

Food rich in protein generally tend to keep us full longer. Do you typically work out in the morning after breakfast? Water consumption is also an important factor. There are a number of physiological reasons why, but even slight dehydration can make us feel hungry. Stress can make us feel hungry to...
