Re: Fish Oil: ~4g DHA/EPA & Oxidative Stress Concerns?
Gotcha. Thanks much - that's what I really wanted to know. Well sometime before May, she wants to subtest LDL (apparently there are three different types, one bad and two good, even among LDL) to see where I'm at with that, so I think I'll stick with the ~2g EPA+DHA I'm using now and see how those c...

Re: Fish Oil: ~4g DHA/EPA & Oxidative Stress Concerns?
Hi Bossman, Thanks for the very thorough response! Interesting about ALA. I don't take any ALA supplements (soy dry eye supplement I used to take had fish oil and a decent dose of ALA though), but I do eat nuts (usually a handful), etc. As far as articles, here are a few abstracts: http://www.ncbi.n...

Fish Oil: ~4g DHA/EPA & Oxidative Stress Concerns?
Hey all, So I just got back from the doctor's today, and I'm making progress. She liked most of the supplements I'm taking, BP is getting a little better (still a little ways to go, but it's in the ballpark), and overall things are going well. I've been taking 2.2g of fish oil per day, and she and I...

Re: Concerns Re: Previous Lecithin (Choline) Usage
Boss Man, Thanks much for the helpful links. A lot of good information to go through! While I took much more soy lecithin than carnitine (though I did take some if it, and still take a little in BP supplement), I think the lesson is the same - it seems like carnitine (and soy lecithin) are only cons...

Concerns Re: Previous Lecithin (Choline) Usage
Hey all, Another supplement question for you in quest to get healthy/stop worrying =oP. Several years ago, because of its reputation to promote cardiovascular and brain health, I was taking soy-based Triple Lecithin (around 7200 mg daily, which translated to 2520 mg phosphatidylcholine). I took this...

Re: Arginine/Citrulline Longterm Safety
Thanks for the detailed reply, Boss Man! Yes I've read a lot positive about arginine. I just don't know if those amounts (3g combined arginine + citrulline) could pose a problem since they haven't been studied longterm that I know of, but you have really good points about vasodilation, and I think i...

Re: Arginine/Citrulline Longterm Safety
Please excuse the link to another forum and the poor format - unfortunately, I can't find an original source for this, though it seems to be well-argued and footnoted. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=442448" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Bit more readable ver...

Re: Help Regarding Incline Training and Heart Rate
Thanks for the great feedback, Boss Man! Well the good news is I decided to start Level 2 of the treadmill routines per your suggestion. If anything, it's a tad easy (though the first one generally is, then they ramp up). But that certainly tells me you had the right idea. Also, these concentrate on...

Arginine/Citrulline Longterm Safety
Hey all, So among other things I take (multivitamin, fish oil, garlic, cayenne, and a few other supplements), I take Arginine (1750 mg) and Citrulline (1500mg) daily to help general exercise performance and also assist with blood pressure (as well as other benefits like vitality). It's also "in...

Re: Help Regarding Incline Training and Heart Rate
Yeah. I did about six months of 7 days a week with almost no skips (only skips were travelling one day and getting ill two, and even other days I was still a little ill but feeling better I was trying to work out), and I knew something was wrong when I started getting twitchy, irritated, tired, and ...

Re: Help Regarding Incline Training and Heart Rate
Oh, and somehow I forgot to answer your last question. No, I'm generally skipping Tuesdays and Thursdays. So that gives me Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (and I do light weight training, abs, pushups, stretches those days) and then Saturday and Sunday as treadmill only days. Occasionally (holidays or...

Re: Help Regarding Incline Training and Heart Rate
Thanks Boss Man, Interesting...I hadn't considered that idea, but it's a good one. Thanks! You think at the end of the day this would be more beneficial than continuing the high incline workouts I'm doing now then (and slowing down when heart rate gets too high)? Should heart rate eventually fall to...

Help Regarding Incline Training and Heart Rate
Hi all! Nifty community. =) So I need some help/feedback re heart rate and thought this might be a good place to post and get some expert/other user opinions. I'm 33, 5'11", just under 230 (I started journey at ~250, so making progress!), and have been using an incline trainer as primary exerci...
