How much potassium intake is required

Hey everyone, This is probably a straightforward question. I wanted to know the required potassium intake for someone who is active four days of the week and does not have any additional problems. So I suppose question is straightforward but I really cannot find a decisive answer on the matter. Than...

Re: A Good Protein Powder?

I think that unless you go with some really ‘shady’ brands, most protein powders are going to be OK to take. Some reputable sties online actually do reviews of different protein brands. They do not talk about tasty or not tasty, but they chemically determine the protein composition of the powder (wh...

Re: best time to drink protein shake

Even though I get the idea of a protein shake before a workout (to ensure that your levels are up) I would much rather have some simple carbs before I work out and then save protein shake for afterwards. That is going to help muscle grow better I believe.

Re: Is this a good pre workout?

I think that rather than ask for information here (after the fact) you would be better off doing the research beforehand like Boss said. I think that if you are going to take something (even something as ‘simple’ as protein powder), you want to make sure that it is the right decision for your body a...

Re: Advocare---what is your opinion??

I just think of the actual taste of avocados and realize I would rather make myself a rather tasty guacamole than have to deal with taking supplements. I think Boss Man is right – most of the stuff that you see is so poorly written that it just feels like just another spam message.

Looking to set up a complete home gym… where should I shop?

Hey have any of you set up a full gym in your house? If so, do you have any company in particular that you like to get most of your equipment from? I'm looking to get enough equipment that I can knock out a total body workout, and have plenty of variety in exercises that I don't get bored. I don't w...

Re: Desperately need help in losing weight.

I certainly would not go for a liquid diet. Anyone who I have ever come into contact with that started that way would instantly bounce back and gain weight. I think that Bossman gave some solid pointers on what to address. Look at how many calories you take in and then go from there.

Re: Need help shifting weight.

Considering many others already addressed some other areas. Start limiting the amount of times of the day that you eat chocolate. For example, allow yourself the opportunity to eat chocolate after lunch or dinner. But not any other times during. Studies showed that people who did this gradually lost...

Re: Eating right?

You are clearly eating pretty healthy. If you are concerned about calories or sugar you may want to watch how many fruits you take in throughout the day. You could consider switching those with Greek yoghurt or cottage cheese. As far as working out goes, you should get started with lifting weights a...

Re: Need help with bulking

If you trying to bulk up just remember that you can add more peanut butter, some olive oil and whole milk. Remember that oats are a great way of gaining weight as well. Finally, heavy protein shake here or there (especially the mass gainers) is going to net you an additional 700 to 800 calories. Goo...
