Any yoga routine reccomendations?
Hey folks. I just posted in the sports/athletes forum asking about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which I just joined a gym. I'm seeing if anyone has some good full body yoga routines they could recommend. I really need to work on flexibility, and yoga would serve a double purpose, as to give me an excuse to ...

Any Brazilian Jiu Jitsu people out there?
Hey all. So, I just joined a BJJ gym. I used to do Tae Kwon Do when I was a kid, but looking back at it, it was kind of a lame style of martial arts. BJJ seems visceral and raw, and looks like a lot of fun. If you see other posts on here, I've had a hard time loosing body fat in the past year, and s...

Re: Trying not to plateau
Personally I would say keep some cardio in an also bump up calories as you're taking in a sedentary average for men, which is fine on non-workout days, but it could be a bit higher on workout days. I'd suggest you go up by 20%-25% on calories and see how that goes. You could keep the same macro rat...

Trying not to plateau
Hey guys. I'm still having problems shedding the fat. I'm 6' even at roughly 210 and I still have a long way to go until I consider myself confident. I think I have hit a plateau, and haven't made progress for a while. macros are 20/40/40 at 2000 calories, I'm kind of wondering if that isn't enough ...

Re: Shoulder Impingement, need some advice please.
I have never had anything like that personally, but if your shoulder presses are going straight down to parallel, then that shouldn't be a problem, unless the form aggravates a pre-existing concern; but it shouldn't cause it, unless too much weight was used, or there was an issue moving the weight ...

Shoulder Impingement, need some advice please.
Hey guys. I have been having an issue with shoulder lately, and from the research I've done it is likely an impingement. The test that seems to prove that is as follows: With right arm extended completely straight out, I put fingertips from that hand on left shoulder and lift elbow straight up. As I...

Re: Meal frequency, body recompositioning
Also, I'm thinking about getting a body mass monitor so I can more closely monitor progress. Do you have experience with those?

Re: Meal frequency, body recompositioning
I don't see anything too worrying there, but maybe you could just have low fat cheese rather than different types of cheeses. I think that was a mistake when I was putting it into food journal, I started going to a grocery store that doesn't carry the "sea salt" cottage cheese. I eat 2% b...

Meal frequency, body recompositioning
Alright guys, so I feel like I've made some better progress recently. I've been doing more high volume, lower rep lifting in the gym, mixing up routine a bit more, and keeping closer track of diet and decided to make sure i get 1 gram of protein per pound of target body weight. I've went down to 220...

Training frequency, advice on new routine
I had Bossman give me some insight on changing training up a bit. I'm changing from doing lower volume weight with up to 20+ reps each set, to doing more high weight with lower reps. I'm worried about overtraining, so, in building a new routine around a different strategy, I'd like to get details on...

Re: Progressive Overload training
What I'm really not sure about is how many sets of a given muscle group I should work. I decided I'm going to try doing 4-6 reps per set at somewhere around 85-90% 1rm at 4 sets. Last time I went to the gym after switching to this method, I spent almost an hour and a half doing all of muscle groups ...

Progressive Overload training
It's me again fellas. So, since the last time I posted, I have seen minimal muscle gains and little to no fat loss. I even tried a very calorie restricted diet, but decided I ultimately needed to increase protein. I may post a topic about diet plan too, but what I really want to talk about is Progre...

Home made meal replacement shake recipes?
Im on a diet and exercise regiment where I'll eat a bit over maintenance calories on lifting days and under maintenance on rest days for about 5-6 months. I started working out and was about 245-250 lbs. I lost between 10-15 lb right away by dropping calories down to 1800 and doing a lot of cardio. ...

Whey vs hemp protein, before and/or after workout
A) I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on protein sources. I've been having some indigestion problems with whey, lots of gas and cramping (Gold Standard whey, by the way). girlfriend can't stand to be around me the night of lift day, haha. I was reading that hemp protein is easier to digest, do...
