Re: Cardio for bodybuilders
well it sounds like you already know that low-intensity cardio is best for weightlifters. As far as a place, simply walk or use a stair climber and monitor your weight--aka no need to jump up to 1 hour per day immediately if you only need 20 minutes to continue your weight loss, etc.

Re: Balance of Cardio & Strength Training TIPS
I'm not sure i get exactly what your goal is, but if it is aerobic endurance and strength/muscle that is definitely possible. Squatting at 70%+ of your max for reps is an amazing way to build both muscle and that aerobic capacity. Also keep in mind HIIT and intense cardio is much harder to recover f...

Re: Indoor cycle or upright exercise bike?
Because it sounds like you already have a history of sitting a lot, i wouldn't necessarily recommend either as it will only make your glutes/hips tighter and more inhibited (though it is good exercise). I might suggest trying to elliptical instead as it is an upright position. Also, diet is the most...

Re: Best cardio exercise
If you are also doing strength training, you should only do low-level cardio for the majority of your cardio as weight training is very recovery-intensive as it is. In own experience adding anaerobic cardio (sprinting) in a large amount to a strength training program resulted in me injuring knee fro...

Re: 9 week walking journal
the benefits of walking are amazing even if you also do strength training or some other high-level fitness activity. Stan Efferding talks about this a lot and how it can be beneficial for staying pain free in the back and hips. I have added 20 minutes a day just for health myself.

They are compliments, but as others have pointed out you should be happy with the healthy transformations and changes in your life and only YOUR opinion truly matters.

Re: Weight loss + Muscle Gain
The main thing you need to worry about is being in a calorie deficit of 200-300 calories each day (eat 200-300 less than your maintenance calories--how much you need to maintain your weight; you will have to find this through some simply experimentation). Strength training is also perfect for weight...

Re: A few questions. I need some help
While DOMS is an indicator of a good workout (what you are referring to is delayed onset muscle soreness). However, it is not required to make progress. Just because you do not feel sore in that way does not mean you aren't progressing.

Re: Questions about lifestyle
Being in a healthy caloric deficit (200-300 calories) each day with the goal of losing 1-2 pounds is critical on top of your exercise program. They say "abs are made in the kitchen" which is just to say your diet is very important towards the results you want.

best way to put on muscle is strength training--namely compound movements like the squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press, and rows.

Re: Balancing weight loss and training! Help
First off looks like you are doing a great job. With that said, there is no such thing as "toning" up--only lowering your levels through a calorie deficit which you seem to have down. Lifting weights is a much better way to burn calories (squats, deadlifts, etc.) and will allow you to eat ...
