Seltzer water is just as good for you as regular water. Certain carbonated waters such as soda water may contain salt or sodium that you might want to avoid. If you like the taste then continue to consume seltzer water. Good talking to you. Doug Ice water will burn more calories because he body nee...

3 sets of 10 = 30 total reps 10 x 3 = 30 reps same total reps...so what's the diference? you'll be using 85% of your 1RM for the 10 x 3 compared to the 60% for the 3 x 10 so you get the same mass gains and the strength gains win / win really Yes it is the same rep count, but you will be lifting hea...

a sturdy flat bench, a power rack, a barbell and plates. The only limitations are those you put on yourself. The plates you buy as you need more to distribute the cost over time. Cheers Can you get by with just dumbells, bench, and a curl bar? I have a lot of plates that I just put onto dumbell hand...

Good job on the weight loss. The Total Gym is actually a very well built home gym. Yes it has limitations but not that many. It doesn't ever use 100 percent of your body weight because otherwise you would be upside down or standing up. You can do the math and add what is needed to make up the differ...

I have a weak left chest from a collapsed lung operation that I had done a while back. I also have a weaker lower abdominal area that may have a small hernia or some sort of weak muscle. So this is why I say I can't go doing anything that can easily strain one of these areas. I can't choose a weight...

Don't know, that is why I am asking others. On Paper it looks good. All these things are a little expensive though.Doug56 wrote:Yes. Just wondering if you had any experience with it - positive or negative. I am not experienced enough to know which brands work better than others.

Yeah, I mentioned this before but brother showed me a book and it was showing up near 4000 calories. I looked at this and said noo way. I did calorie calculations on the web and it showed me what I should eat to maintain weight. Once again I looked at that and it was still a little high. I know I st...

When you say 50-100 over maintenance, do you mean per meal, or per day? I'm assuming you mean per day. Per day. I was reading this article and there was another fitness expert online that posts a lot of videos, was saying that you don't have to force feed tons of calories. That as you start lifting...

Yes you can have too much protein. You can have too much of anything. The more I research and learn, the more I believe moderation is everything. I have the same setup as you. I have dumbells, plates, a bench, and total gym. I would think as long as you workout hard enough, it should be fine. I thin...

Ketogenic diets and Nutrition In General
It seems like a lot of guys on the bodybuilding.com forum are following ketogenic diets and lifting. Has anyone tried this and do you think that it is true that fats are actually the body's primary source of fuel and we have been wrong or confused all these years? I would think a balanced diet would...
