She should make an appointment with her Doctor to rule out anything serious. Blood sugar issues, heart disease. Dizziness can be a symptom of either one of those conditions and other medical problems as well.

Abs are about body fat % and diet. Any core strengthening work is good for the abs. Squats, lunges, pull-ups, planks, hard & heavy lifting.

It is assuring to know someone else has gone through or is going through what I am not that I wish this on anyone. I have a tendency to do to much of anything when I start something wife said I am obbsessive about going to the gym but it is a great release for me as I have made and ran into friends...

I like both but at home I have a treadmill. For me it is more versatile. I can do different workouts with the same machine. I know you can also do that with the elliptical but I feel I get a better workout with the treadmill.

I like planks too. You can also do a side plank and a plank in a push up position. With hands on the floor and arms straight like you were getting ready to go down for a push-up.
