Out of water exercising?

Post by jmvane15 »

What are some exercises to do for competitive swimming? I'm not able to go to the pool everyday, so what are some exercises that contribute to technique, speed, etc.?

Have you ever done a CrossFit workout? I don't mean to talk about it all the time, but it will help you in every area.

Here's a link to a video about a swim coach who recently incorporated CrossFit dry land training into her team's schedule: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzAhv4g8oNI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
At crossfit.com there are free workouts, and exercise demos too, so you can make up your own. Anything where you time yourself and do intervals, even with bodyweight exercises (sit ups, squats, push ups, burpees, handstand walks, etc.) without equipment will help a lot.
