Are abs really made in the kitchen? if so then should I be doing ab exercises? If I do, do ab exercises, how many times a week should I work on abs? What are good ab exercises to do at the gym, besides Planking.
I just joined the gym, the best way to see changes in body, is to lift weights, eat right and what else?

They say abs are made in the kitchen, partly because you need good nutrition to build and repair abs afer training, but also to make sure your monitoring your fat intake, so you can see them, if you are that bothered about "showy abs", not just condition.
Besides planks you have options like cable crunches, side bends, (obliques only), roman chairs, bananas, reverse crunches, leg raises etc.
However you get indirect abs work anyway doing things like squats, cleans, push-ups, good mornings, lunges etc.
