Electronic monitors are a guide only, regardless of whether they measure heart-rate, calories burned, etc.

If you tried to do a serious experiement, then you'd need to be aware of variable things that could affect heart-rate, like Cortisol levels / stress, Caffeine and other stimulents, diet, type of exercise and possibly the time of day and also weight levels of the individual and blood pressure, to name a few.

As someones weight can fluctuate daily and blood pressure too, then an exact daily diet, coupled with a daily exercise regime, done at the same time of the day for about 2 weeks, utilising a different heart-rate monitor each day if possible, could be a way to analyse the person themselves, so the nature of the test, would be to replicate the exact physical and caloric conditions each day, so each monitor was being used in almost indentical circumstances, to promote consistency of monitoring.

Even then though, after two weeks and potentially results almost congruent in every occasion, you would have a consistent measurement of heart rate, but no concrete proof that the numbers achieved were an indentical representation of actual heart-rate; you'd just have something that could be classed as a very likely representations.

Bang on the nail with the HRT's being on the P**s. I got up this morning and messed about with monitor on the treadmill and the bike, and
resting, then after 15mins, and then 30mins differed by as much as 30bpm, so i think i will stick with "fingers in the neck, cartoid check" method.
If it works for NCSI it works for me

Workouts sound good! :D I like the last one you posted. I didn't know what a Peterson's Step up was...so I googled it. It looks hard to do - do you like them better than regular step ups?

Yes for me it's safer! i can do regular step up's but i lose the control aspect of the exercise to easily for liking, so when i looked on the site for other ways of hitting the quads swanso5 had mentioned this, so i gave it a go and have stuck with it every since. Glad u like the Workouts!
