Sampson's Journal

Post by Sampson777 »

First post here. I did marathons and 50k races a long time ago. Then I switched to bicycle riding because of an injury. Then I lifted weights for a while. The is a big picture of the last 38 years. Now I am just beginning training for a half marathon in October. So today's workout:

2/22/14
1 mile run in 8:20

I will also be recording weight and cable training here.

You mentioned an injury in your 1st post. What kind of injury did you have?

So you had Chondromalacia Patellae I would assume from that.

What made you consider the half marathon you are training for, as presumably, if I am correct, there could be a possible re-occurrence of the CP again couldn't there.

you can't live your life afraid you will get injured. I need the cardio, and the injury was long long ago. If everyone was scared of getting injured there would be no sports. In addition, I will not be running anywhere near as far or as much as I was back then. I don't think I used arch supports for running then, but I do now.
The injury was so long ago, it's hard to remember the details.

a friend said he was going to try a half marathon, and since I had done many marathons and some 50K races in the past, I decided to try also. I prefer running to other forms of aerobics because you get more exercise in less time, at least for the ones I would consider, and in addition the only equipment you need is the running shoes.
