Slam Balls

Post by danielalanma »

Hi guys,

Have you guys ever done CrossFit? I took a class and they had this exercise equipment called a "slam ball", and as you can guess you take a weighted ball (like a medicine ball) and slam it on the ground like you are doing a squat. I found it to be primal, stress-relieving, but most of all fun! Here is a vid on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZxZFRGGJpY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here is where I bought one: http://www.ragefitness.com/inventory.asp?CatId=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;{E10F7981-B3FF-46C4-90A8-79EA5F560F6B}
I've been abusing 20# slam ball for a while now. If you are looking for a good conditioning workout that is fun I highly recommend this out. If you have any questions plz shout out!

I have seen people utilizing these balls in their workouts at the gym, but have yet to actually try it. Since you mentioned it being a stress reliever I will prob give it a go.

Thanks/

It's a surprisingly hard exercise! I like doing intervals with them e.g. 20 seconds of going as hard and fast as possible, followed by 40 seconds rest. An even more challenging exercise is EMOM (every minute on the minute)... basically do a number of reps (I do 15), then take the rest of the minute to rest. The idea is that the more fatigued you get, the slower you'll perform the exercise, therefore less rest time! Repeat for 10 minutes and you'll be wreaked!
