Training

Laugh about, live and enjoy being over 50, or talk about those over 50 even if you're not, because aging doesn't have to be a chore.

Training

Post by cookie51 »

Hi wonder if you can help.im a 51 yr old guy who trains 5 times a week for the last 6 mths. I set out to lose fat and build muscle and get more defined.i believe I've accomplished that but seem to have reached a plateau as far as muscle growth is concerned.most of weight training is geared round 3 or 4 sets of 8 reps with increasing weight.would I build/ bulk more if I done heavier weights with less reps and more sets? I have been training chest/shoulders/arms/back and legs as separate routines.core routine when I can fit in with cv as a warm up.thoughts/advice would be appreciated.many thanks kev

It sounds like it's more to do with your diet.

What times do you eat at and what foods do you eat at those times?

What's the latest you eat in the evening? I would try not to eat anything after 6:30PM.

Maybe you should be taking a look at everything overall, your diet, exercise regime etc, maybe a little advice from a trainer might help
