Laugh about, live and enjoy being over 50, or talk about those over 50 even if you're not, because aging doesn't have to be a chore.

Am I doing something wrong?

Post by DaveSp »

I started going to the gym 3 days a week about 6 weeks ago. I’ve been keeping track of eating habits with a tracking app. I lost about 6 pounds originally but now I’m holding steady and have put a pound or two back on. I’ve increased the weight training significantly along with time on the treadmill. I do not have a personal trainer and have been trying to lose weight on own but I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong here.

Hi Dave good to talk to you.

The extra weight gain could be muscle, but if you have altered any aspects of your diet and / or increased or started a supplement regime after an initial lifestyle alteration period, then you might have gained a little weight from water retention perhaps.

Have you recently been prescribed any medication(s), that might cause water retention and / or weight gain as side effects?
